End of one chapter the beginning of another

As this school year comes to an end, and Edward prepares for 5th grade promotion, I am taken back at all we have been through ober the course of the last 11+ years. It hard to remember back to  those days that Edward spend in the NICU, 109 to be exact, or the times Edward spent trying to walk or talk. All that seems in the distance past, as he closes on chapter of his life and begins another. I can’t believe that in just over a year Edward will be a teenager or that in less than 3 months, Edward will be at my school! I am so excited to see him everyday and I know that he will be in gods hands in 6th grade.

I hope to blog munch more than I have the past 3 years, as I have been spending my blogging time writing something else that I hope to share with everyone soon.

Say safe everyone and I will write more soon.

edardday.com

Well after almost 3 months of edwardday.com not being updated, it finally has been updated. Go to edwardday.com to view photos from May, June, July and August of 2020! Edward year 9 video is there for those of you who have not seen it. Sorry it has taken so long! My goal and promise is to update his website once a month so you can keep up with the news of what Edward is up to...

Edward started 3rd grade, virtually and seems to really like his new teacher! it also helps that his 2 BFF are also in his class and in the same session . In K-5 schools in Lancaster CA, the kids have been assigned either a AM or PM live instruction time, Edward is in the AM group with is two BFFs.

We hope to get back to normal soon, but in the meantime I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe!

Oh, also can you believe that Edward is Nine! Where did time go? It seems like yesterday that he was in the NICU fighting for his life! When you are born at 23 weeks, well you know, you usually do not make it, but our BIG EDWARD is sure a miracle.

Lots of news

Ok, I have not been as good as I wanted to be in updating this blog, so let me update you on some news.

1. Edward is now taking showers, he discovered that showers are better than baths

2. We bought a small 2.5 feet deep 10 feet diameter pool for Edward, if he could be would never leave it.

3. Edward can swim across the pool without touching the bottom and I taught him how to kick his feet under the water

Hope everyone is safe and staying healthy

Day.. Not even sure anymore

Well we are started to get a little antsy. We know that all this is for ur safety abut even Edward is starting to feel it, at least there is some hope that this might be ending, however no Jethawks this year or Little League. We are starting to see some non essential stores and businesses opening and golf courses are opening back up. We are thinking of taking Edward golfing so at least he could do something other than sit home and play games with mom and dad.

Day 61

Well the only exciting thing that happened today is Edward's Air Force Base did a flyover in the Antelope Valley to salute the front line workers.. Thank you to anyone reading this blog post who is putting yourself before the country to help everyone get through this, you are appreciated by the Day Family.

Below are photos of the flyover, Edward and I had to travel "into" town to see it, since we live 9 miles outside of Lancaster. Note in one fo the pictures, Edward wearing due to laws requiring them here in California.

Day 60

Well just when we thought that we might be getting the stay at home order cancelled, we find out that LA county has extended it until the end of July. We are still waiting on word of what school might look like in August, but our Governor has stated that he wants no students on College campuses in the fall, so I have a feeling the same will apply to us.
It happier news, Edward and I have a new morning routine. ESPN has started to air Korean Baseball Organization, KBO, like MLB in Korea. We discovered that a former Jethawks, Roberto Ramos, plays for the LG tigers, and ESPN has shown his team a few times, including today, Wednesday and tomorrow Thursday. The game air at 3AM PT, so we tape the game and watch it in the morning, below is a picture of Edward watching Roberto bat today...

Day 57

Well, happy Mother's day to everyone, we spent the day here at our house, playing games, going on a bike ride and watching movies. Edward even got another chance to facetime with his BF Neveah from his class again. It is so cute watching them faetime on the ipad, they usually just play Mario Kart together or Edward will play with his Mario figures while she plays with here dolls. The sad part is he keeps asking when Neveah can come to his house, and we keep saying when people are not sick. I think this whole thing is starting to get to him too.
The other sad part about today is that the Jethawks were suppose to have a game today and they were going to let all the mom play catch on the field before the game like the dads got to do last year on father's day. We have a bad feeling that we have seen our last Jet Hawks game ever... MLB wants to eliminate 40 minor league teams and the Jet Hawks are one of those 40!
