Same old same old

Well Edward continues to improve daily. Edward was able to give his mom her birthday present early, he got her a hard cover picture book that contains all different pictures of him from day one up until today! Thanks to iPhoto and apple for making it so easy!
We once again want to invite everyone to visit but please get your DTAP shot first or please stay away!

Edward eats veggies for the 1st

Well Edward eat veggies for the first time tonight and seemed to enjoy them. I have posted a video and pictures on edwardday.com, pictures are on main page and under the picture tab at the top and the video is under the video tab along the top. Enjoy!

Great weekend with Edward

Had a great weekend with Edward, sorry about no blog yesterday. It was a very hard day as it marked the 6 months since William left us.
In happier news, Edward continues to improve everyday on his cereal feedings and Melissa and I have begun to explain hockey to Edward. He seems to like it so far, especially all the moment and colors.
Melissa turns 36 on Thursday and Edward bought his mom a very special present which I will tell everyone all about after I give it to her!
We can't wait for everyone to meet Edward, and as I stated before the doctor told us he can have visitors so everyone is welcome! Please just call ahead to make sure no one else is going to be here and remember to get your DTAP shot, anyone who will be around Edward for more than a hour at a time needs his/ her shot or please stay away (per doctor's orders)

Edward

Will make this short tonight, Edward continues to grow big and strong each day. Dad has to get to bed as I am on nighttime feed watch since it is the weekend and Melissa needs the sleep

Edward

Edward had a great day, he had part one if his eye assessment today , part 2 will be next week.
Edward continues to grow each and everyday and we are just amazed with the new stuff he learns to do on a daily basis.
Edward cereal feedings continue to go well , as so do his bottle feedings.

Edward Eye update and goodbye to Grandma Day

Edward's eye appointment went great today! The doctor thinks only 2 more visits before we go to yearly visits. We go back in 3 weeks, and then probably 3 more after that.
Edward's rice cereal feedings continue to improve, today he really seemed to be into it.
Edward did say goodbye to his grandma Day as she leaves in the AM on Thursday and will return again in late June for Edward's official baptism.

Real food begins

Well Edward started to eat real food (well rice cereal) and it seemed to go well. We only gave it to him twice today, per doctor's orders. My little buddy is growing up so fast!!
Tomorrow we head back to the eye doctor, grandma Day decided to stay until Thursday so she could go with Melissa, thank you again.
Oh a funny story before I sign off for the night, yesterday when the doctor said he could have rice cereal, I turned to Melissa after he left and said, so are we going to be giving him Rice Krispies ? She started laughing? I said what are you laughing about? She said you don't give babies that! I said why not? It has rice in it right ? It is rice cereal? She said no, their is special rice cereal for babies. Well didn't I feel stupid, if Melissa wasn't their I probably would have gone and bought Rice Krispies to give him. Lesson learned on my part.

Oh and also we go back to the eye doctor tomorrow. So we are hoping for the best!!! Look for an update on his eyes sometime in the AM.

Big news

Well first Edward's new weight is.....
12 lbs 10 oz and his new length is 23 3/4 inches!!! Way to go..
In even bigger news, Edward can begin to eat food other than formula. The doctor told us to start out with plain rice cereal and see how it goes. Melissa went right out tonight and bought rice cereal and all the different flavored of basic baby food he can have after the rice cereal. Edward is growing up too fast...
If some of you think it is too soon for food, WE are doing exactly what our great Pediatrician told us, exactly .
Melissa even took notes and asked questions to made sure she understood exactly what to do. The doctor did say however that ANYONE coming to see Edward needs to get his/her DTAP, no matter when they come. So if you are planning a visit, and we invite people to come , please get your DTAP shot first!

Off to pediatrician tomorrow

Back to the pediatrician tomorrow for his 6 month check up, lots of shots and a new weight a length, so check out the blog tomorrow night for a new weight and other important info.
Edward continues to enjoy his time with his grandmother Day. He sure does love all the attention he is getting.

First day with Grandma Day

Edward had a great first day with grandma Day. He eat breakfast at the table with everyone, then he took a long nap. After his nap he got his lunch, had 6 month pictures taken (which are posted on edwardday.com, look for the tab at the top that says 6 month pictures). After his photo shoot we all took Edward for a big walk outside, which of course put him to sleep.
After the walk his grandmother Day got to feed him for the first time and Edward decided to welcome his grandmother to the feeding club by spitting up on her.
What a fun day we all had, time to goto bed so we can do it all again tomorrow.

The roller coaster continues

Well as most of you know, Edward failed his room air test today, which means we are still on 1/8 liter of oxygen until at least March 13th when we go back for round 2!
Everyone was really happy to see him at the NICU today, security even made him a sticker that said NICU graduate.
In other news today, Edward's grandmother Day arrived safely from Florida to see him for the first time since late August (when he still weighted under 2 pounds) before his trip to LA for heart surgery. She could not believe how big he has gotten! She will be spending the next 6 days with him, and he sure does live the attention, right before he went to bed tonight, as she was saying goodnight to him, he gave her a big smile , I guess telling her ( Love you Grandma!)

Well tomorrow, Friday is the big day, time to get this oxygen off !

Happy Valentine's day from Edward and the Days. Hope everyone had a great V Day! Melissa and I tried to goto Tokyo steakhouse for dinner put what a joke that was... What is the point of reservations if no one will honor them! Oh well we are done with that restaurant for a very long time !
Hope everyone is doing great , just 3 more days and counting to the room air test, well maybe 2 depending on when you are reading this.

Well Edward just wants to say happy birthday again to his grandpa Day!
I had a great day with Edward. I can't wait til this weekend (I have 4 days off) hurray!

Edward a little tired

Sorry about no blog yesterday, Edward and I were very tired after watching hockey all day, it was hockey day in Canada on CBC. We are still amazed at how big Edward is getting.
It was kind of a sad day yesterday, we not only had to jump up to his big boy bottles but he also has moved up to size 2 baby diapers! It is hard to believe that at one time he was wearing a diaper the size of a quarter..
Just a few more days before his grandmother Day arrives for a six day visit and WE are just 5 days away from his room air test at the NICU, and the possibility of NO MORE WIRES!!!
Oh and will the family please stop FIGHTING OVER ever little thing!
Thanks we have enough stress with out the family adding to it!

Boy is Edward big

Melissa started to walk Edward around the house in his fold up stroller, which we also used at the NICU and has he ever gotten big. I put a picture of him at 14 weeks and compared it to now and what a difference. You can see both of those pictures do you can do your own comparison on edwardday.com ( on the home page).
Edward continues to get stronger and bigger everyday. Next week we return to the NICU on Friday for his room air test, and we are hoping that it goes well so we can get rid of the I the oxygen and monitor.... We both agree that it is time to go wireless!!!

Eye doctor

Everything went well at the eye doctor today, have to go back in two weeks.

Edward

Well Edward continues to grow stronger everyday. Boy is he getting big, I told his grandma Day that we will have to put a name tag on him so she recognizes him (she has not seen him in person since August). She comes to see him next Friday, is he every excited !
Edward heads back to the eye doctor tomorrow for another check up, we hope the good news continues.
Also a special thanks to Kim who came over tonight to baby sit while Melissa and I got our taxes done, thanks again!!

Edward sleeps

Well nothing really new today. No park today :( Edward tried to watch the big game but ended up sleeping through it. Oh well their is always next year....

Off to the park we went

Well Edward finally got to the park for the first time. He really didn't know what to make of the place. He looked and then cried when Melissa held him on the slide.(see picture below). We are hoping to go back to the park tomorrow before some big football game we heard might be on. Edward isn't sure who is playing or what football even is, but he told us we had to watch some big game tomorrow.

Edward continues on

Well Edward was suppose to have his initial intake meeting with Los Angeles Regional Center today( they help bridge the developmental gap for premature babies ) but it was rescheduled till Monday.
Edward did change his nipples today, he went from his newborn ones to 3-6 month old ones... What a different, he use to take 30-45 minutes to finish 4 oz, but now he can do it in under 20 minutes!!!! Way to go little buddy!!!
Edward also sat at the table for dinner for the 1st time!!!! (see pictures below)

??? Can not do anything right

First I am told that I can't talk about Edward with my kids because "one parent called and said it was stressing their child out" and then I have people criticizing every little error I make on this blog... I am about done!!!! With this blog....
For those of you who won't criticize me:
