Edward swims again

Edward had another great day. Today Melissa took him swimming for the second time and she said he still wondered what this thing is he is in. Edward also turned over twice today , once during tummy time, telling Melissa I guess that enough is enough and once while he was playing his piano with his feet. In all another A+ day. Tomorrow the second marks Edward's "six month adjusted" birthday (he has been home for six months!!)

Great weekend

I had a great weekend with Edward and Melissa. On Saturday we went to the MS walk with grandma to help raise money for MS! What a great time we had (see his picture page on edwardday.com for pictures.
On Sunday Edward tried out his new pool. He didn't actually know what to think of all the water, he just looked at it in amazement!!! He seemed to really like the water, I have also posted pictures of his water encounter on edwardday.com!!
Sunday afternoon we went back to Hull park for a walk and just so time as a little family, Melissa and I have decided to make it a weekly tradition, going to the park Sunday afternoon!
Another busy week ahead, so look on edwardday.com for daily updates and this blog for updated info. Oh on May 20th we go back down to Cedar Sinai ( where Edward had surgery) for a NICU reunion!! We can't wait to show him off to everyone and thank them again for saving his life!!!

Everyone gone

Well Edward's guest left today, but did he ever have fun when they were here! Look below for a sample of photos, I hope to have the web site updated tomorrow. I have also created a new photo movie that I will also be uploading tomorrow afternoon.
Tomorrow Edward will be off to the MS walk with his grandma Campbell, I will also be posting pictures of that tomorrow, lots to do this weekend! I also hope to have the new web site up by the middle of May!!

Sat day with visitors

Well Edward spent his last day with his visitors. Tomorrow morning they say goodbye :( Edward is sad already, but he will see them again, we hope soon. Today Edward took his special guests to the dog park and also to the farmer's market in Lancaster!! He also spent time watching two game 7's with his dad and grandpa ! He sure does love hockey!!!
Edward has had a great visit and is looking forward to his next guests from our of state in June for his baptism!

Enjoying spending time with visitors

Edward continues to enjoy spending time with his visitors. He sure does love people coming and visiting. I think Edward really enjoys getting spoiled! What a surprise! Today his grandma and nana Campbell bought him his first pool, but unfortunately it was a little chilly today to try it out, so check out the web site and blog in a few days when it gets warmer, to see Edward day in his first pool!!!

Great day at park

Well Edward headed off to Apollo park with his guests today. He loved the park!!! He sure is enjoying all the attention his is getting. He always has a huge smile on his face when ever I see him.

Off to see the cats

Today Edward took his special guests up to see the cat compound is Rosamond (just North of us). Melissa took pictures and I will get them uploaded tomorrow, sorry no new pictures tonight. I am very tired, state testing is only 9 school days away and have been working 10+ hour days to get the kids ready .

Visitors arrive

First I apologize for no blog yesterday. We had a really good friend pass away suddenly and we were very busy Saturday.
Today Edward, Melissa and I went to the Lancaster Poppy Festival . We had such fun, and we meant Edward's NICU buddy Alex over there. Edward sure does have a lot of friends from the NICU. We meant such wonderful people that we will always be friends with .(see pictures below of the boys together)
Edward's very special guests also arrived today, (his grandpa Campbell and step Grandma Campbell from Northern NY) see pictures below. They will be spending the next 5 days spoiling Edward!!! Boy does Edward ever love all the attention he gets from friends and family!!!

Edward swings

Well Edward got a chance to go swinging in his new swing that his Grandma and Grandpa Day bought him when his Grandma Day was out here to see him, see picture below. He sure did love it. Melissa even facetimed with his grandma so she could see him.
Well only one more day before Edward's very special guests arrive. We also hope to take Edward to the poppy festival tomorrow !

Great day at park with Edward

Well Melissa and Edward waited for me Sinai could go to the park with them! I was so happy! We had so much fun, and the Barbers meant us over there!

Edward goes to the park

Well Edward headed off to the park today with his NICU buddy Noah. He stayed there for over 2 hours and loved spending time with his buddy. He even reached out a grabbed his hand when he was getting ready to go saying, din't go buddy! Noah's dad, who is a professional photographer took some pictures of the boys together so as soon as I get them I will post them to the website .
I also failed to mention on Sunday that Edward turned 8 months old!! Hurray!! Time sure does fly, before you know it Edward will be at the NHL draft getting draft 1st overall by the ducks :)

Busy week

Sorry about no blog yesterday, we had a friend get hospitalized and we were both very worried about them and still are.
Anyway now some good news, Edward continues to do great, he got the ok from his development therapist today to allow him to play in his saucer for up to 10 minutes a day. (see picture below ) Thanks again aunt Charlene and family !
Edward is almost ready to try out the spa as well , don't worry I have lower the temp on the spa to 88, so it is more like a pool then a spa, we are both not that stupid to put a baby in 110 degree water.
Edward also has some special guests arriving this weekend but you will have to wait until Sunday to see who they are.
Edward's grandpa Day is back home in Florida, after spending about a week and a half in the hospital! He is still very weak but loves face timing with Edward. We try to call his Grandparents in Florida everyday.

Another weekend gine

Well I enjoyed another great weekend with Edward and Melissa. I sure do enjoy spending time with them both. Edward has not been able to get out in a few days due to the weather but the weather improved enough for home to go down Luke Barber's house in Palmdale for a play date!!!
Edward sure does love all the attention he gets from everyone, we just wish he would take a nap in the afternoon so he was not to crabby at night, but oh we'll he is in charge now!!

Cold day in Lancaster

Well it was a cold windy day in Lancaster so we were unable to take Edward to Relay for life :( .
Edward has been unable to go outside since Tuesday due to some freak spring weather we have been getting (rain, windy and cold)
The weather is suppose to get better next week which is great, just in time for Lancaster's annual Poppy Festival!
So we can't wait for the weather to improve!

Kissing a pig and rain rain go away

Well tomorrow is Relay for Life, and for the past 2 weeks my school has been running a competition to see what class at each grade level could raise the most money. The class that did, that teacher had to kiss a pig and well guess who won for 8th grade? I did, my class raised over 85 dollars !!! Way to go, and yes I had to kiss a pig today (see picture below)
Today also brought another rain storm, where is all the rain coming from? I feel like I might have to build a boat soon. So Edward has not been able to go outside for a few days but I did get a good picture of him looking at himself in the mirror and wondering who is that handsome baby he sees?

Grandpa improves Edward is great

Edward's grandpa Day continues to improve and well Edward is doing great ad well. Just think in 3 days Edward will turn 8 months old!!! OMG as my students would say. Melissa is already starting to plan Edward's one month birthday which will be on his actually birthday from 3-7, so we hope everyone can make it.

Edward the great

Well Edward continues to do great and he just a great cure if you are feeling down. Today I had a great day and as soon as I saw Edward it all went away. Edward's grandpa who is still in the hospital got to FaceTime with him and that too really seemed to cheer him up. I am telling you, if I could only bottle whatever it is he does then he would be rich!!! Oh wait we are rich with the love we have and he has for us, what more could anyone ask for.

Happy birthday

Today Edward went back to the NICU to wish Dr. Lipsky a very happy birthday. We owe her do much so it was the least we could do. Every time Edward goes back to the NICU everyone is always so happy to see him. Below you will find a picture of Edward playing with the birthday doctor today.
I also got some well bad news today, my dad has been in the hospital since Friday and he is having problems breathing and even walking. Melissa and I are very worried, but we will keep praying .

Great Easter weekend

Edward sure had a great time Easter weekend. He was able to meet his relatives from Fresno, some for the first time (Edward did meet his Aunt Bonnie from Fresno in his first few days at the NICU)
Edward sure does love all the attention he gets from everyone. Edward also went back to the NICU on Easter and to see Dr.Lipsky (who was the doctor who was the first to treat Edward at the NICU and was also there the day William passed.)
I guess I never really thought about everything we owe them until one parent of a current baby at the NICU came in the waiting room where we were visiting with the NICU staff and said,"you owe his life to them" and he was right , without Dr. Lipsky, Dr. T and all the great nurses and RT Edward would have never made it. How do you begin repay someone for that?

The Easter bunny is coming

The Day house is preparing for the Easter Bunny, Edward dyed eggs yesterday and he went to sleep tonight dreaming of the Easter bunny coming to town!
Edward overall continues to improve daily, he is sure enjoying all the attention he is getting from his great Aunt and Uncle Waters and cousin Greg Waters. They meet Edward for the 1st time this weekend (well aunt Bonnie Waters did get to see Edward in the NICU when he was under 2 pounds ) but that was a longtime ago!
