Daytwins updated and Edward continues to improve driving

First daytwins.com has know been updated and removed from the apple servers that by the time you read this will be shut down. If you still get redirected to the old URL web.me.com/daytwins, you may have to clear your cache in your browser.

Edward continues to improve on his driving skills. Today he practice only backing up. He seems to check his mirrors each time before backing up, well he tries to each the mirrors but it looks like he is checking his mirrors.

New surgery date and new car

Well we went down to LA children's today to see Dr. Kim about Edward's Hypospadias. He actually said that it is so slight that he thinks he actually just needs to be circumcised and that will fix the problem. Edward's new surgery date is July 31st, and the time is 7 am. So that will make for a very early day for us. Edward did however welcome Dr. Kim to his medical team by trying to pee on him. Dr. Kim however was much faster and was ready.
Edward also received his first car today. A jeep walker. He is actually doing quick well with it. He did however hit something in the kitchen and not stop to exchange insurance info. He also got caught drinking and driving! (see picture below) .

Relaxing day at water park

Well we took Edward back to the water park today to meet Kim, one of his wonderful nurses from the NICU. Boy did he ever love it again. Maybe Edward will grow up to be an Olympic swimmer instead of a NHL goalie, but whatever he does I will be very proud of him.
Personal note, I was reading Edward the book, "God Gave Us You" and I started to cry thinking all the great things god has given us. A healthily boy, great friends and family, all the new and wonderful friends we have made, and 10 great days with William. At least we got a chance to tell William how much we loved him and we could say goodbye. I keep thinking that William could have died right away. God gave us 10 wonderful days , and I will never be able to show how grateful I am!

Tomorrow we are off to LA Children's Hospital for another doctor's appointment, Edward was suppose to have surgery tomorrow but his doctor hurt himself do he referred us to one of his associates. We hope to get another surgery date tomorrow! Stay toned to this blog for any info we may get...

Goodbye and restful day

This am we said goodbye to grandma and grandpa Day. Safe travels, see you in six weeks or so we hope.
The three of us spent the day resting and picking up as we prepare for our next house guest on July 2nd. Edward also went back in the spa tonight and had a big smile on the whole time.
Tomorrow Edward has vision therapy, a lunch date with Kay at noon and a possible trip to the water park in the afternoon .

Off to chuck e cheese, goodbye grandma and grandpa Day

Well today Edward took his grandparents to Chuck E Cheese for lunch. Did he ever have fun!!! Check out the pictures and video on edwardday.com
Edward also said goodbye tonight to his grandparents as they leave Lancaster at 6:30 am and Edward should still be fast asleep at that time. He had such a great time with them, and he hopes to see them very soon!!

Edward plays and he plays

Edward continues to enjoy all the attention he is getting from his grandma and grandpa Day. He continues to be a show off, as he continues to roll every time we try to do tummy time, most of the time he does it in under 10 seconds. Tomorrow we are off to chuck E cheese, so Edward can show us all how well he can ride in the cars and trucks there.

Baptism and Edwards new trick

The baptism went great today. I have uploaded all the pictures of the baptisms to edwardday.com. The church also video tape the baptism and I have included a link to the video on the baptism page at edwardday.com.
Edward also has a new trick he likes to pull. Whenever we try to do tummy time he turns over to his back. His fastest time is about 3 seconds. I have video taped this new trick and will upload the video to the video page at edwardday.com tomorrow night.

A restful day

Well today we spent a day resting and preparing for Edward's and Melissa's big day. We picked up 4 sandwich rings at Sub Machine, a cake at Sam's club and of course Melissa and my mom have been hard at work making pasta salad and cutting up water melons. Mean while my dad and I spent the day kid proofing our house in preparations for Edward crawling and or walking which his developmental therapist thinks will be sooner rather than later.
Tomorrow look for lots of pictures of Edward's and Melissa's baptisms on edwardday.com. We recently discovered that Melissa was never baptized as a child, so she is choosing to be baptized tomorrow with Edward. A very special day indeed at the Day house!

Water Park Again

Went to the water park again! Had a great time. Grandma and grandpa Day also bought Edward his first set of Legos today!!! Hurray!!!!
Tomorrow we are starting to prepare for his baptism on Sunday. I will be uploading lots of pictures of the baptism on Sunday night, so watch for that.
Also I will be once again updating the look of edwardday.com, so look for the updated web site in a week or so.

Special guests have arrived safely

Well Edward's special guests have arrived safely from Florida, see pictures below.
Edward and I drove over to the shuttle drop off point to pick them up. They were sure surprised to see Edward!
Edward, once he got home, put on a jumper show for is grandma and grandpa Day! Boy is he ever getting big! Edward also started a new thing today. Everytime we put him on his tummy for tummy time, he would proceed to turn over onto his back! And he keep doing it ! Boy is he getting too smart!

Oh one funny story before I sign off. I have a cuckoo clock that my Grand father Armstrong use to love. I got it fixed a few years ago and it worked for awhile, but broke again. So for the past few years it has just hung on the wall as a decoration. Well today Edward grabbed onto the chains that hold the weights for the clock, I quickly took them away, however guest what started working all of a sudden ? The clock, somehow he fixed it! Not sure how, but maybe we need to open a clock repair service !!! Anyone need a clock fixed?

ET update

Ok it is not the ET your are thinking of. It is eyes and teeth.
First eyes. We went back to the retina specialist who did the laser surgery on Edward and he seemed pleased with everything. We don't have to go back for six months!!!! Hurray!!
Teeth update: As I reported a couple of days ago, Edward has 2 teeth coming in together on the bottom, they look about 50% in. We also spotted today 2 to 3 teeth coming in on the top. Boy are the teeth coming fast!!! Where did our little boy go?

Moving day

As I write this, I am lying in bed in a lot of pain. We moved Melissa's classroom today across Lancaster with the help of two sons of our friends. Edward was a little small to help so our friend, who use to be his nurse at the NICU, watched him while we moved Melissa. She must of had over 100 boxes of stuff. Where did she get it all!!! And she has more in our back shed that she is going to move so we can put Edward's "baby" stuff out there.
Tomorrow we are going back to the eye doctor for his 3 month check up to make sure nothing is going wrong with them, then if all goes well, we come home, have a baby sitter watch Edward while we bring Melissa's mom to the dentist. Then we drop her back off at the nursing home and we will head for home and clean and pick up for our guests we have arriving on Thursday from..... Well you will have to wait and see in Thursday's night blog.

Super Edward has arrived

Today Edward and I spent the day playing while Melissa got help from a friend's son to pack up her classroom for the move across town.
So Edward and I got to play Super Edward for 10 + hours and I loved every minute of it! See pictures below of super Edward and more pictures are on the photo page at edwardday.com

Great first fathers day

I had such a wonderful first Father's Day.
First we went to church (funny story, Edward and I went up for the children's sermon and right in the middle of it the pastor asked the kids a question, no one was saying anything so Edward jumped right in with some "Radpberries", oh boy did everyone get a good laugh.
Next we went to the dog park for a Punic and just enjoyed being a little family, just the three of us.
Next we headed to the mall so Melissa could look for some water shoes for the water park.
Finally we went out to eat at El Torillio with our great friends, Natalie and Hank. boy was the service terrible, we will never go there again.
What a great day, I got sad a few times thinking about William and how I wish he had lived but I know he is in a good spot looking down on his brother.

A day at the water park

Well we went to the water park today in Palmdale and we had such a great time. Edward loved the water, looking at all the kids, and splashing. Edward even made a new friend, Lucas who is 10 months old who parents also bought season passes today. Edward gets a free pass due to his age but the took his picture and made an ID for him ( see below).
I will be creating a short video of our adventures at the water park and should have it up sometime tomorrow on edwardday.com.
We have decided not to go back to the water park tomorrow due to the fact that all the dads get in free so it should be very busy. We do however plan on going back next week and Edward is planning on taking his Grandma and Grandpa Day when the arrive for his baptism next week.
Look for lots of new content on his web site in the next few days. (Also a reminder that daytwins.com will go offline sometime this week for a few days until I move the site over to google servers.)

Last day of school, and Edward has a play date

Well today was my last day of school. It was really hard to say goodbye to my kids. I also gave out the William Kenneth Day award for Excellence in Geometry today to one of my students. (see picture below of me announcing the winner at promotion) , I almost broke down while announcing the winner as it was very emotional for me.
While I was doing that, Edward had a play date with Joshua, the son of one of Melissa's friends. They played in the pool together and did they ever love it. The splashed each other and laughed the whole time.
Tomorrow we are off to the water park in Palmdale (about 5 miles from our house). We are actually going there tomorrow and Sunday. I can't wait!!!!

Fun day all around

Had a great day at six flags with the kids and Edward had a great time today with mommy. Bought Edward lots of presents at six flags that I will post pictures of tomorrow.
Sorry to make this short tonight, very tired am going to bed.

Teeth have arrived and Edward and his jumper

First, breaking news!!! Edward has his first TWO teeth. We spotted them tonight. He was not in a real good mood at cereal time so Melissa took a look and bingo, two teeth on the bottom.
Edward also has started using his new toy, his jumper. Boy does he love it. I didn't think he could love anything more than his saucer, boy was I ever wrong. Edward just loves his jumper. Great Day

Well I enjoyed a great day at school, and Edward enjoyed a great day with mommy. First Edward: Melissa took him to her new school to meet everyone and the principal, who Melissa use to work with. She grabbed Edward and walked him around to show him to everyone. I think everyone at Melissa's new school lives Edward already!
I also had a great day at school as well. First my home room surprised me with a goodbye video they made for me. It oh course made me cry. Then one of my students gave me a gift to give to Edward, lots of clothes and a blanket that I think tells you exactly what Edward is ( See picture below)
Tomorrow is a restful day for Edward and Melissa. For me, it is my last "full day with the kids". Thursday is Six Flags and Friday is Promotion!

What a face

Edward had a great day today. He went to lunch today with mom, and then fell asleep so they did not go and see grandma this afternoon.
Once I got home, we went over to Black Angus for a goodbye get together with Melissa's old school. It was nice for Melissa to be able to say goodbye one last time and show Edward to everyone one last time. See pictures below of Edward at the restaurant.

Once we got home, Edward did a little playing of his piano and gave us the best picture EVER!!!! See below.

Great Sunday

We had a great Sunday with Edward. First we went to church again, everyone just loves him so much at church! Then we came home and Melissa went and got her mom so she could spent the day with Edward. Edward showed his grandmother how to play in his water table and how to swim in his pool. (see photos below)
Tomorrow Edward and Melissa are having lunch with a friend and then they are going over to see grandma Campbell at the nursing home.
As for me, I only have 5 work days left!!!! The end is in sight!!!
I am looking forward to the summer but I will miss each one of my students, as they go off to high school!!!
