One busy day for us

Well the busy day is over!!! First we started at the nursing home, then we headed to the NICU for a visit and finally we headed to Alex's house (Edward's buddy from the NICU) to celebrate his birthday. Down goes the crib

Well this morning when Melissa put Edward in is crib for a second to get something guess who tried to stand up... Yup, Edward, he didn't make it all the way up but that was a big sign to both of us that it is time to lower his crib all the way... So know we are down to the floor almost with the crib, what a difference from we're it us to be....
Tomorrow (Halloween) we gave a very busy day, when I get Edward, we are coming home putting on his costume waiting for mommy, going to the NICU to trick r treat, then going to his buddy's Alex house for his birthday, Alex was also in the NICU with Edward and was born on Halloween. Then at 8pm we are headed back to the NICU to say hi to the night staff and then finally home for cereal and bed.... Oh I am getting tired just thinking about it...

Thought to our family in the north east

Just want to take time in the blog tonight to tell our family members in the northeast that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Hang in there....

Crawling update: Edward continues to crawl a little bit but seems to not be motivated enough to move a lot. I guess it is time to really spread his toys out in the living room and see what happens..

Web site updated

Well the web site has been updated to include the photos from the Boolevard, Edward's life touch photos and photos from Trunk or Treat today after church. So go to edwardday.com and click on the photo in the upper right part of the screen.
What is Trunk or Treat you ask, everyone decorates up there cars after church and the kids go trick or treating from car to car and oh boy did Edward ever make out good!!! Check out the sample photo below. More can be found on Edwardday.com

Crawling update : well Edward did it again today, he crawled forward a few times when Edward and I were face timing on the computer with Grandma Day, put then didn't do it the rest of the day...

Edward at the booolevard

Well tonight we took Edward and grandma over to Lancaster boulevard to the annual Boolevard Halloween celebration that the city puts on. Edward dressed up as a tiger and boy was there ever a lot of people. The local business gave out candy to the kids who could go trick or treating. Wa it ever busy. Nothing new

Well nothing really exciting to report today. Tomorrow Edward is going with us and grandma Campbell down to the booolevard in Lancaster to see all the Halloween decorations... What fun that will be....

Crawling update: no new crawls, so maybe that one little moment was... Lucky???

A look back

Well tonight Melissa and I decided to get out Edward's Halloween costume from last year. (Barrel of Monkeys) Boy has he ever grown. Last year he was swimming in it, and today he was not well too comfortable at all. I really thought he was going to fit, boy was I ever wrong... See the pictures below to judge for yourself.....

Crawling UPDATE: Well who had today..... Edward took a small, I mean small crawl forward tonight to get something, but he moved forward... so who picker today...... HURRAY....

Surprise visitor

Well today Edward had a surprise play date. Luke Barber stopped by with his mom to say hi and to hang out with Edward. Luke showed Edward a few tricks on how to play with his toys.... The boys had a blast together, see pictures below.
It is amazing to see how much Edward has grown but it is also amazing to see how small he looks next to Luke.

Edward drives

Well Edward took his car for a spin today and loved it, well daddy helped push him a little. Mom got a little nervous when he was driving with no helmet, but she relaxed after she saw how much fun he was having!
Edward got in two more teeth, one more on the top and bottom for a total of 6 so far!!!


Crawling update : according to his physical therapist he creeped a little forward today, but not an all out crawl yet..

Smile pretty for the camera

Well first Edward had a fun raiser, next Edward got his picture taken. Did you know that Life Touch, the company that takes pictures at regular schools goes to preschools too! Well he actually had his pictures taken awhile ago, we kept it quiet because we wanted to surprise everyone.. So Surprise.... Check out some of the photos below. I hope to upload them to his web site by this weekend so you can download them all if you would like.

Crawling update: he is moving his legs and arms while in crawling position just not at the right times, just needs to figure it out.... Anyone want to guess when he will actually crawl for the first time? We should start a pool!

Off to the big tube

Well tonight it happened... Edward took his first bath in the big tube.... See picture below. He found a new favorite toy, a wash cloth, that he kept hit the water with and getting everything wet including mommy and daddy.
Edward also, earlier in the day, went over to the nursing home to see grandma Campbell, she was not out of bed yet so Edward hung out with his grandma in her bed, see photo below.
Back to school for Edward tomorrow... Hope everyone had a great weekend, we sure did.

Crawling update: he moves his arms forward but can't get his legs and arms moving at the sometime but he continues to try...

On our way home we stopped in Santa Clarita to goto a store called By By Baby, not sure how the spell it, to get a chair for the bath tube for Edward! He is too big for the blow up mini tube we have... What a sad day, our little boy is growing up way too fast!!!

Pumpkin patch at grandmas

Well today Melissa got a call from her mom at 3:45 asking her where she was and if we could come to the pumpkin patch. Well Melissa called me I feed Edward his post daycare bottle, she picked us up and off we went, she picture below....

Edward goes to a game

Well today after school Edward and I went home, gave him a bottle and then we headed to school to rout on the girls volleyball team as they played Del Sur. I have several kids on the volleyball team who have been asking how Edward is doing. Boy was he a girl magnet, as soon as they saw him they all came over to see him...

Crawling update : we are so close, today Edward got into crawling position on the floor and reached his hand out and moved his legs like we wanted to go, but still not exactly sure how to put it all together.

Happy Edward

Well today Edward had a full day, first he went to day care in the morning, then at 4 Melissa picked him up, I had a dentist appointment, then she took him to see grandma at the nursing home for a quick surprise visit. Then they came home and we headed to the mall for hair cuts and dinner, Edward did not have his hair cut just Melissa and I, then we headed home, gave Edward a quick bath, read him two stories, Melissa feed him and off to bed he went.... Boy I am tired just typing this...

A story every night

I thought I would share the picture below that Melissa took of me and Edward during story time. Every night after he gets his bath and gets dressed daddy and Edward have story time. Lately we have been reading one Curious George book and two bible stories. We think it is very important that we teach Edward early on about God and all the miracles he has done, including of course Edward himself.

Crawling update: today at daycare and at home he got into crawling position, reached forward and gave up and rolled over... He is so close!!!!

4 days until the big ????? Trip!!!

4 day weekend gone

Well our 4 day weekend is all over, time to send Edward back to daycare and time for us to get back to work. This was sure a busy weekend but Edward always has a big smile on his face.
This weekend we head off to .…..... With Edward. You will have to edit until Saturday night to see the pictures....

Oh and I just want to wish our cat Kariya happy birthday..., we are do glad that she is better, Edward sure does love her so much...,,

Crawling update, not yet but we are really close, he is getting into crawling position by himself, we think it will anyway... So stay tuned for daily crawling updates...

Rest

Well we are home safe and well everyone is very tired. We really enjoyed ourselves but as they say in the Wizard of Oz, there is no place like home.

Edward's first hockey game

Well Edward really seemed to enjoy his first hockey game. He just starred at all the motion and loved watching everything. We thought he would fall asleep during the game, but he wanted no part of sleeping!!! He stayed up for and watched the whole game. Look for a new page on his site later today of all the pictures from the game!!!! Below are two of my favorites !!!

Off to hockey

Well Edward did great at his appointment today, on to the next test....
Tomorrow we take Edward to his first hockey game.... What a production it has been trying to the tickets we purchased but more about that later..
Time to go to bed and rest up for another crazy day...

Test passed

Edward passed his swallow test!
But we are still not sure why he vomits or won't take solids. On to the camera down the throat test next, Sometime in November.

Edward's new toy off to LA

Well Edward got his new toy in the mail today (per therapist recommendation) see picture below. He seemed to really love it!
Well tomorrow we are off to UCLA again for part 2 the actual swallow test, so stay tuned to this blog for an update as soon as we know something. The test starts at 11:45 amPST, so look for an update around 1ish...

One fine day

Well another great day in Lancaster. Edward is such a happy baby!!!! He always seems to have a smile on his face!!! Hope you had a chance to check out all the new photos I recently posted to edwardday.com...

Back to work

Well Melissa and I returned to work today until Friday when we return to UCLA for Edward's actual swallow test. Unjust hope this is our last trip to UCLA. We just want them to figure out what is wrong.
Today after school we took Edward back to his doctor as he still has a stuffed up nose, but still no ear infection just allergies according to the doctor, that was a relief, we are just nervous parents!
We did get a new weight!!!! 18 pounds 4 oz!!!! Wow is Edward ever getting big!!!

Good news bad news day

Well it was a good news bad news day. First Edward did really well at his appointment but the bad news is it was only a consultation we go back on Friday again for the swallow test.
Well it is official now, we have officially visited all three major children's hospitals in LA: Cedar Sinai for his surgery and outpatient therapy, LA children's for his minor surgery in July and UCLA today.... Please Edward no more, we don't need to see anymore hospitals!!! I took a picture today to mark the event, see below.

Well off to LA we go tomorrow for Edward's swallow test. Hopefully they will be able to find out why he is unable to eat solids. Wish us luck. Look for an update on this blog tomorrow once we know something.

Just a relaxing day

Well just spend a relaxing day at home. Edward did video chat with his papa Campbell, aunt Chris and grandma Day. He even showed grandma Day how we'll he can go from laying down to sitting on his own!!!! Know all we have to do is try and figure out how to motivate him enough to want to crawl .
Tomorrow we are off to church and then breakfast with our friend Kay.

Mom is better

Well Melissa feels much better today, and just in time for the weekend. Hurray!!!
Melissa told me that at therapy this AM, she says with Edward at daycare till his therapist comes on Fridays. Anyway, today at the beginning of therapy Edward fell down onto his back, we think it was on purpose since he can stop himself from falling over, and within seconds he pulled himself back up to sitting position, both Melissa and his therapist clapped and cried tears of joy!!! It is just hard to try to explain how far Edward has come.
Oh then after school today I placed my iPhone just out of his reach and he tried and tried to grab it, he just wasn't taking the bait, I was trying to get him to crawl . Then when I placed him in crawling position, guess what he does... Goes back to sitting position. Boy does Edward ever have a mind of his own...

One more day games cancelled

Well one more day to the weekend . Melissa stayed home today to try and get better! She sleep most of the day, but was she ever excited to see Edward when I got home!
Today I got some bad news that was expected to come, the NHL cancelled the first two weeks of the regular season, so much for taking Edward to see the ducks opening night! Time for plan B. Will fill you in with the details of plan B later.

Mom still sick

Well first Edward is doing great!!! For mommy well not so much. She actually called in for a sub tomorrow so she can just sleep off her cold. I hope I don't get sick again next.
I am however enjoying all the one on one time with Edward, and it is official... Edward can pull him self up for laying on his back up to sitting position on his own with no help from no one or any object!!! And he didn't just do in once, three times yesterday before school and at least five times tonight. Next is him crawling!!!! Oh goodness, he is growing up way way way too fast !

Mom gets sicker

Well Melissa got sicker and well it has been Edward and daddy time the last few days, but I am not complaining. I love spending whatever time I get to spend with Edward.
Oh quick story, today when I picked Edward up at daycare he was sitting with the other kids at the table. They told me that while the other kids where getting there snack, Edward grab one of the toddler cookies and started eating it, and did a good job and finishing off about and eighth of it. I think Edward is telling us that he has had enough of the blended food. Well we just want to make sure nothing is wrong with him before we dive right into solids. Edward has his swallow test on Monday.

Another week begins

Well another week and another person sick. Edward is doing great but Melissa is well getting sicker. Losing her voice and just not feeling good.
On a happier note, Melissa got Edward another new outfit at Kohl's over the weekend and he looked so cute today. See picture below.
Well long day at school tomorrow as I have to be at school by 7:10 for a meeting so goodnight.
