Ok typo in this morning blog for December 31st. It should have read that I WILL ONLY be uploading video to his YouTube channel and their will be no regular video page....(sorry, I think it originally said I won't be) change that to I WILL be only.....

A trip to grandmas

Well after a restful day, Edward took a trip to see Grandma Campbell, and of course he drove over, well sort of...(see photo below). Tomorrow we have a very busy last day of the year, lunch with friends up in the mountains and a New Years party at our friends the Salters.... Lots to do....

Edward loves his shadow and image

Well Edward loves to play with his shadow.. He also loves to see himself in the mirror. I have uploaded a video of Edward playing with his shadow to Edward's YouTube channel do go check it out. Below you will see a picture of Edward high giving himself in the mirror, if you didn't know it you who swear it was his twin :(. I wonder if that is what the boys would have looked like together...

Website update... New site ready to go..... Just have to have Melissa look it over to see what she thinks... I will be changing over the look of the web site on Jan 1, 2013, so get ready for a new easier to view web site....

Restful day update coming

Well the only news we have today to share is that Edward's therapist told us during his early intervention therapy that Edward, developmentally is right were he should be....what a difference a year makes..... What a difference... Thanks Gabby for all your hard work helping Edward to continue to caught up to his class!

Restful day

Well today we said goodbye to the waters family and started to clean and rest. We really enjoyed having everyone hear for Christmas. Edward got a little upset during the evening, I think he missed his company(family) so we took him to the mall to walk around. He seemed to calm down and was good for the rest of the night.

Eye update

Both eyes normal, don't have to go back for one year !

Back to normal

Well today we took down our Christmas tree so Edward could have back his play area, With the tree in the living room, Edward's play area was cut in half. We also spend our last full day with the waters family, as they leave to go home tomorrow morning after Edward's eye doctor appointment. Oh Edward as a follow up appointment with the eye specialist he has been seeing and Edward great Uncle Gary Waters is coming along at out request, so he can ask more specific questions since he to is an eye doctor.

Merry Xmas to all

Well first merry xmas to everyone in blog land. Today, well Edward must have been a very good boy today, boy did he ever get a lot of presents! Go check out all the pictures from today activities at edwardday.com and click on the holiday 2012 pictures page.
Check out the picture below, it is hard to find Edward in there. We really enjoyed another xmas with Edward and of course today was a little sad as we thought a lot about William and how much he meant to all of us, we love you William and miss you so much.

Edward go to facetime with his cousins, aunt and uncle in PA, his Grandparents both in NY and in FL, boy does he ever love seeing them all, he wants to give them all a big hug, so he tries to get at them through my macbook screen....

Everyone arrives for Xmas

Well everyone has arrived for Xmas 2012 or as we call it Edward's 2nd Christmas. Boy is he ever excited for all the attention. We love being able to share Edward with everyone. Today before Edward's guests arrived he did get a chance to FaceTime with his cousins in PA and open presents with them. Boy do they ever love Edward. Well another busy day tomorrow, Melissa and Edward are already sleeping so I better get going as well.

Santa is coming soon

Well the house is cleaned, presents are rapped and a good little boy is waiting for Santa to come. Today Edward went to see auntie Pat to bring her Xmas presents, and of course for Edward to open some too. Thanks auntie Pat for all the great stuff, we have enough coats to last until he is in Elementary school! after that we headed to Target for some last minute items, what a zoo! But nothing topped a toys R us tonight, I have no idea why we decided to goto a toy store 3 days before Xmas! We did however and got Edward a few more things because you know he does not have enough!
When we got home Edward decided to help unpick up the living room, see photo below.

Big day tomorrow as Edward's great aunt and uncle arrive from Fresno for Xmas. This is te first time they would have seen him since August!

Santa is four days away

Well Xmas is just four days away and we have lots of work to do in preparation for Santa. Tomorrow we clean, and Edward plays with all his toys. We have no idea were we are going to out all his new toys, we might have to add on another room?
Edward went over to see his Grandmother Campbell wearing his Santa hat tonight, time to get n the Xmas spirit..... Hull out the holly, put up the...........

One day left

Well one last day before break.. Hurray!!! Today Edward delivered presents to all the babies at the NICU. His buddy Alex was too sick to go. Two day to go.

Well first Edward again wants to wish his papa Campbell happy birthday. Edward got to face time with him today and show him how well he can crawl. Edward also got his new tunnel in the mail tonight, it takes up most of the living room, see photo below.
Tomorrow night Edward is headed back to the NICU for a visit with his buddy Alex, to deliver presents they bought for all the babies currently in the NICU. Edward is even going to wear his wants outfit. Look for pictures of that tomorrow night.

One day closer

Wel nothing really new today. Edward continues to improve n his walking up to 4-5 steps behind walker before he gives up. He is also learning to drop things in a container which he does quiet well. Four days to go

Well let the count down begin.... Four days to Christmas break... It is hard to believe that one year ago Edward just came home and was still on oxygen and weighed just over 6 pounds... One year later he is 3 times the size and starting to take a few steps thanks to his walker. This should be one great Xmas. Restful day

Well after a long weekend, Edward enjoyed a kind of restful day. We went to church in the morning, then grandma Campbell came over and the Barber's came for a visit, and finally Edward went to Kohl's with mom to get his teachers at daycare a Xmas present. Well I guess it wasn't that restful after all. I guess we have to go back to work in order to rest..... Goodnight

A busy day

Well today was sure a busy day, first we went to the mall to have a birthday lunch with Edward's grandmother Campbell. Next we took Edward to visit Santa Clause at the mall, then Edward and I headed home for rest. At 5:30 we headed over to the Bartlett's in Lancaster for a play date and to walk down to Christmas tree lane so we could see all the pretty Xmas lights and get ideas for our house. Our Hearts are with CT

Well today we want to take a moment to pass alone our thoughts and prayers to all those effected by the tragic events in CT. It made it all real again, what we went through. Melissa and I can't imagine how we would feel if we dropped Edward off at school and never saw him alive again.

Well to cheer things up a little bit, we took video of Edward walking today behind his walker and posted it to his video page on edwardday.com.

More steps

Well Edward took 2 steps today behind his walker.... He still can't get himself up to walk but we are getting close to that too. Where did our little boy go? We hope to take video of him walking this weekend and I will post it of course to edwardday.com.

Christmas card made

Well Edward helped us make Xmas cards tonight, if you get a bend one then that is the Edward Day special card, we only have one of those! He tired to help out.
Edward is doing great, today while mommy ran over to the nursing home to bring her mom something, Edward for the first time ever....are you ready for this.....took his first step, behind his walker, I moved it forward and he very slowly, while still holding on moved both his legs in a stepping motion, one at a time of course, then get got tired and decided to sit..... But it counts!
Big moment, I wish mommy was there so we could have taken a video.... Maybe tomorrow.... Goodnight.

Off to costcos

Well Edward went to Costco's tonight so we could do a little shopping, he loves to shop which means he must take after his mom! Daycare is going great and asked us to send in a sippy cup so they can work with him on using it....

Good and Bad Day

Well it was a good news bad news day. First, the good news, Edward had a really good day at day care, he actually comes crawling up to you when he sees you come in the door to pick him up, and of course he gets all excited.
Now the bad news, Melissa got hurt at work today, she tripped over something when she was reaching for her purse and hurt her wrist. She filed workers Comp and went to see the workers comp after work, she just sprained it, she has to wear a brace until Friday when she goes back to the doctor again. Overall it could have been much worse.

Edward helps grade

Well today after church we came home and I decided to finish grading my Geometry Projects, however Edward decided to help, see photos below. Nothing else too exciting today, Edward is learning how to hold onto something while standing, he can almost get up to standing position. While standing at his walker he tries to move his left leg and falls over. He just needs to learn balance. Oh we'll he will get it with time, who know maybe he will be walking my Xmas, but we shall see.

Boys day in

Well Edward and I spent the day together and I loved every minute. We picked the house, never got to lowes will do that tomorrow. Never got the leaves pick up either, but we cleaned the house and watched a Batman movie marathon.
After Melissa returned from training and her friend arrived we headed to Xmas on the boulevard, boy was that ever packed, see pictures below. We then headed over to Xmas tree lane to look at all the Xmas lights and to get ideas on how to improve ours.

weekend is here

Well the weekend is here the weekend is here. Tomorrow is a boys day, as Melissa had training from 8-3, so me and Edward are going to rack the year, clean up his toys, and go to Lowe's for some more christmas lights and spare bulbs. We have a big weekend planned. Edward is having a special visitor tomorrow night as one of Melissa's old girlfriends from college is out here on business and is driving up from Los Angeles for the night. Time to get to Bed, big day tomorrow.

Another day

Well another day and Edward is great. He seems to move faster since he got his hair cut.
Exciting news is that today while he was talking with his grandma day he got up to his feet in a upside down V in the middle of the room hands and feet on the ground, not sure what that might lead too. Something tells me however that Edward might be getting close to walking holding on to furniture, then the chasing him around the house will begin. Better get rested up for that..,.

First haircut

Well tonight we took Edward for his first haircut. Melissa was very down about it. They gave her all his hair they cut, see photos below. We also forgot the scroller when we went to the mall so we had to rent a mall cruiser, see photo below. Edward doing great!!!!

New batman Edward takes a ride and crawls

Well first sorry about no blog last night, The Dark Knight Rises came out last night and I stayed up to 1am watching it... Really good by the way.
Ok know back to Edward, well today after school Edward took a little ride on his 4 wheeler, see picture below.
Then later after his bath and story he decided instead of being carried out to the kitchen for Cereal that he would crawl out, see the other picture below. Edward continues to go great, Melissa however had a bad afternoon as see saw twins at her school come up to each other after school and give each other a hug. She broke down when she got home, not easy, we both have our good and bad days. We will always miss William, we love you so much!

2nd Birthday

Well today we celebrated Edwards "second" birthday at Disneyland. This is something we will continue to do with him every December 2nd until he is at least 18. We had a great time, the only thing that, well sucked, is 2 of the 3 three things Edward could go on with Grandma Campbell, who went with him, were not working. (The train and the paddle boat). We did get to go on its a Small World, and when we first got in the boat Edward was sleeping like a baby, that is until he heard all the noise, boy did he ever wake up fast. He spent the rest of the time just looking around at everything... Busy day

Well today was sure a busy day. First we went to the Xmas parade in Lancaster , see all the pictures from the parade on the photo page of edwardday.com. After the parade we headed home to get ready for Edward's play date with Noah, another NICU buddy, see photo page on edwardday.com for all the pictures. Tonight we packed and prepared for our big Disneyland trip tomorrow. Can you believe that Edward has been home one year tomorrow.... Were did all the time go?
