A skating we will go

Well Edward went ice skating for the first time on Monday. He did ok , seemed to like it towards the end. We have decided to go back in the spring for one more skating session before we call it for the season. 

Getting ready for papa and nana Campbell to arrive on Wednesday, we are so excited to have them see him.... 

Everyone home safely getting ready

Well all of Edward's Xmas visitors have made it home safely. Aunt Bette got back to NY Sunday night. Thanks to everyone who made Edward's 3rd Xmas special. 

Today we took down the Xmas tree and started to pick up as Edward has his Papa and Nana Campbell coming to see him from NY Wednesday....

Getting picked up

Well we are working on getting picked up after Xmas. Edward just can't decide what he wants to play with first . He loves all his toys and he still has a gift card to use from toy a us . Sorry late blog

Well vacation is here!!!! Tonight (Friday), Melissa and I went to Melissa's schools Xmas Party and we left Edward is the hands of his Baby sitter Selena, who has watched him a few times know and that we trust. She brought her younger sister along who is in 9th grade, and Edward gave them both a little xmas present (socking). (Side note, I had both of the girls in my Math Classes at New Vista). Well let the XMAS Holiday season begin!!!!! Oh and Edward is sleeping in his bed tonight, somehow the girls got him to go to sleep in his bed... Told them that we were going to get them every night, since we have had problems getting Edward to sleep in his own bed... Thank you Selena and Joanna...

One more day

Well tomorrow is our last day and then we are on vacation!!!!! Hurray! Edward had a panama day today at daycare and we got our gift from him today. Check it out below !!!! Look at how big his foot print got in 2 years!!!! Boy is he ever growing fast!

Busy week

Well it is a busy week at the day house, as we prepare for Edward's third xmas, with lots of family coming in to help celebrate it with us. We also have had a little visitor the last few nights, Elmo, Edward's elf on a shelf, he was sent here from the North Pole. I guess to check up on Edward. Santa wants to make sure Edward is staying on the nice list, see a few pictures below of were is has appeared every night, tonight we are not sure, as he has left to return to the North Pole and will reappear tomorrow.. Boys Day

Well today was a boys only day. as Melissa took her mom to mall to celebrate her mom's birthday. So Edward and I put on our Dolphins jerseys and watched the dolphins beat the Patriots.. Then we took a 2 hour nap together, then we had a snack then we played... Edward was all over the place, and ate a lot of potatoes today. Family trip early Birthday celebration

Well today we took a family trip up to Rosemond, to see the Cat compound.. (Large adopt wild cats, not house cats, but the cats you would see at a zoo. Edward just loved it, see picture below of Edward looking at the cats.

We also had Grandma Campbell over for an early birthday celebration, see picture below of Edward and her getting ready to blow out the birthday candles.. Well that is it..

Elf on a shelf

Well today Edward took out his Elf and the shelf and started the yearly tradition. Look it up if you have no idea what I am talking about. We named the Elf, but will keep it secret. Below is a picture of mommy and Edward reading th story together.. Well goodnight.

We also went to Valencia tonight for an emergency computer repair, my Macbook stopped working and won't respond so I got really worried I lost everything off it including all th pictures of William, thankfully it was something simple for them.. After that we went out to eat at a deli in the mall, and Edward decided to give himself a cottage beard.. See picture below.. Well goodnight..

Fun Weekend comes to an end

Well another fun week end comes to an end :(. Edward just plays, plays , plays and talks talks talks. We have no idea what he is saying half the time, but he is just talking away to anyone who will listen. He also likes to chase kariya the Cat around, he loves to try and get up on her cat tower, and well tonight, with some help from mom he got up there, see picture below.... Don't worry mom was near by.

Cold, windy and no snow

Well it was very cold today, in the 20s. We had a chance of snow, but we never got any. Today was the annual xmas parade, but due to the fact that it was so cold and Edward just got over being sick, we thought that it was wise not to chance it, we don't want him to be sick again. Well still waiting on the santa pictures, they are suppose to mail us a new thumb drive with all the pictures on it. So when we get them, if we ever get them, I will post them. Well time to get warm, it is so cold here.....

Well we went to get our pictures taken with Santa , I would post them but the thumb drive we got with the pictures on it doesn't work so we need to go back and get another. Edward is currently laying in bed watching the Sound of Musuc and loving it!!!!! Well goodnight 

Happy Edward, talking a lot

Well Edward has been so happy at day care his teacher's told me. He just plays plays plays. When I picked him up today, he saw me, and instead of coming over to me, he took off the other way to play..
His speak therapist told us, tonight when we had therapy, that he is saying so much, he is saying up, down, go ,open, mil (Which we think is milk) and says a lot of stuff we can't understand. I tired to get a vied of him, but as soon as I took out my phone, he of course stopped.
Oh we also went to Toys R Us tonight, mommy had a gift card she had to use by Saturday (It expired) it was a gift card she got for shopping on Black Friday at Toys R Us. Anyway, while Edward and I were walking around the store, I decided to put oh his soon to be hockey helmet, see picture below. We didn't buy this one, but Melissa says he is going to be a goalie...

Lights up, first day back at school and 2 years ago

Well first our lights are up, and we are ready for santa or whatever other aircraft might try to land at our house, see the picture below of the lights and if you look closely you can see Edward and Melissa looking at the lights.

We also headed back to school and daycare today. Melissa said Edward had a great day today. He seemed to be all excited about being back at school again. Personally for me it was kind of weird not hanging out with Edward during the day, since we spent the last 3 weeks together, but in just 3 short weeks, xmas vacation begins and we have lots of time to spend together again.

Tonight we sang Edward happy birthday as we celebrated Edward's 2nd anniversary of coming home from the NICU, look at how small Edward was 2 years ago compared to what he looks like today. What a difference.. Below is also a Picture of Edward eating Ice Cream to Celebrate his Adjusted 2nd Birthday!!!!

Great Weekend

Well Edward is doing great and appears to be all better after his long sickness. We are happy but know that it might be a matter of time before he gets sick again. We just hope that Edward can make it through the 3 weeks of daycare before xmas break with out getting sick.
Well the family activity today was to decorate the outside of the house. We have everything up, I just need to run power tomorrow. We might even put some lights on the roof so the planes can see the road to land (Just kidding). Edward is a great helper.

Happy thanksgiving

Well happy thanksgiving from Edward and his mom and dad. We had a great dinner and Edward even ate some . He seemed to really enjoy the potatoes and stuffing. I took a lot of pictures of Edward in front of our Xmas tree that we put up today. I will off load them from the camera and post them on jus web site sometime tomorrow. Below is a picture

Mommy's little helper

Well Melissa found a new baking helper, see pictures below. Edward even has his own apron to wear. He sure loved helping mommy. He is such a great helper.
Well tomorrow we are off to Cedar Sinai Medical Center for Edward's 24 month developmental check up with Dr. Kutton. Then we should be done going to Cedars except for the yearly NICU reunion. Well we have another long day ahead of us. So goodnight.

Tomorrow we head off to LA with Edward for the completion  of his ABR hearing test. After this we are hoping to get referred to a hearing aid place so that we can get Edward hearing all tones. Wish us luck.. Our doctor said it was fine for Edward to go and have this test done even after all the recent problems he has had. We of course would not be going if his doctor did not tell us it was ok. WE WOULD NEVER DO ANYTHING TO JEOPARDIZE EDWARD'S HEALTH.

Edward doing great

Well Edward is doing great. Day 2 of no oxygen and no signs of turning back. Edward even got to hang out with Selena (one of my former students who is a senior in high school and his baby sitter) so Melissa and I could do some "xmas shopping". We didn't want to take Edward out yet, since he just got off oxygen, and we would NEVER DO ANYTHING TO JEOPARDIZE EDWARD... That is for sure.. Well nothing else new here... Oxygen update

Edward is off oxygen !!!!!

Edward doing great

Well Edward is doing great. We go back to the doctors tomorrow and Inam hopeful that we might get rid of this 40 ft oxygen line Edward is on, but we will see. I will post the results of the oxygen test on this blog so check it tomorrow around 1pm ET or 10am PT for the verdict . Well that is if, big day tomorrow, wish us luck 

Oxygen test dailed

Well Edward failed the oxygen test today so we are still on oxygen. We go back Friday for attempt number 2, so please keep your fingers crossed. 

Also Edward's therapist today told us that he really dies need PT anymore and once he did the shape sorter she said he probably doesn't need OT either. The only thing he still needs is speak. 

Well that is the update. 

Home

Well after a really really long weekend, WE ARE HOME. Edward and still on oxygen and will be to at least Tuesday when we go back to the doctors. Melissa and I have been really upset about Edward being hospitalized again .

Health update

Well in case you have not heard, Edward has been admitted to AV hospital with Pneumonia. We are starting medication and the doctor is hopeful. We just are really scared as you hear of people all the time that die from pneumonia. We just have to stay positive. I will try and keep this blog update at least twice a day with health updates. So stay tuned to this blog for updates...

Update

Well Edward had pink eye but the eye drops the doctor gave him seem to be working really well. He seems to be getting his desire to eat back slowly. I myself am starting to get a soar throat so I wonder if I have  Edward to thank for that. Edward is out of daycare all week, sini took off Tuesfay and Wednesday and mommy took off today sonIncouod go check on my kids. I am taking tomorrow off again and hope to have Edward back in daycare next week. Well that is your health update for tonight . Goodnight everyone 

Here we go again

Ok here we go again, Edward is sick again, first he had a fever last night and then he has pink eye now we think. I will be taking another day off from school to take him to see his doctor. Hopefully we can get back to normal health soon with Edward, as the holidays are not too far away..

I hope you enjoyed all the pictures from disneyland. We are hoping to go back for Edward's two year anniversary from leaving the NICU, but it will depend, of course, on how healthy he is. I do think that the hearing test we have scheduled for the Tuesday before Thanksgiving will know have to get moved, due to the health requirements fro it. The test requires Edward to be put to sleep, it is called a ABR hearing test, google it for more details....


Will wish us luck and pray for Edward to get back to "normal" health soon....

Let the Family Vacation begin

Well we have arrived at our final destination, DISNEYLAND.. Go check out Edward's photo page and click on the November 2013 album or just click the link below. Today we went to California Adventure to see if we could find anything for his Car's room. We did find a few small things, but the best thing we found was in a store at Downtown Disney, the store is called, RideMakerz, it is like Build a bear for boys. You pick out your car frame and your tires... and so on.. Well  we made him a Lighting McQueen from Car's. He just loves his new push car, it even makes noise.

Week almost over

Well the week is almost over, Edward is sure ready to go on his special trip this weekend. Make sure you check his website to see where we will be head.. Check out how happy his was that it was THURSDAY.... HURRAY he said.....

New food

Edward discovered a new food tonight. One of my favorites... Lasagna . See picture below . Edward seems to be back to his normal mommy loving self. Whenever he sees mommy, well let's just say that Melissa has gotten use to carrying around an extra 25 pounds. Edward is sure a mommy's boy..... 

Back to "Normal" tomorrow

Well Edward seems like his self again, so back to daycare tomorrow and I will return to work. I sure have enjoyed spending all this time with Edward. Today Edward and I played a lot in the morning, then he took a 3 plus hour nap. Then we ate lunch and went for a 1 mile walk with his red car he loves so much. Oh boy does he ever love his red car. Edward update

Doing alittle better today. Still running a fever but it goes away quick with medicine. He is out of daycare at least Monday and maybe Tuesday plus more if he does not improve to 100 percent. Oh well no big deal to me, I get to spend lots of quality time with Edward. We have a blast during the day and sure make a mess. Right now Edward is sleeping next to me in his Star Wars pajamas. Thank again Aunt Vhris for the cool PJs. 

Update

Edward doing much better. Infection seems to be gone. We are going to keep him out of daycare on Monday and they hopefully we can get back to "normal " on Tuesday . The doctor did give us a new breathing treatment medicine to try. ( it is suppose to help prevent this from happening, so hopefully we can get through the winter without oxygen!)

Edward sick

Well we are not in Palm Springs at the Math conference. Edward's daycare called today, he had a temp of 102. We then went right to the door and they can hear some wheezing with his breathing and his breathing rate is high. We are on breathing treatments every 3 hours all night and have to go back tomorrow morning for a another check up and who knows, we might be headed to the hospital or be on oxygen for the weekend. I will update this blog when I have more news...

Back to the NICU

Well Edward made his annual fall visit to the NICU. They could hardly believe how big he has gotten. One nurse even started to cry, because she couldn't believe how far Edward has come. They all said it would be hard to even tell he was a "micro" premie, if they hadn't taken care of him. It is always so great to go over to the NICU and show them what all their hard work has produced. We will never be able to fully thank them for everything they did for us.

Play Date

Well Edward had another play date with AJ (Alex) from the NICU. Edward got AJ a car just like his, as AJ really liked his car when he came to Edward's birthday party. Edward also shared his mom with AJ. As towards the end of the play date Melissa held AJ and Edward was not too happy about that. In the end they learned to share mommy. Halloween is almost here

Well since Edward is not going trick or treating this year (We have to leave for a BIG Math conference right after school on the 31st) We took Edward to the BOOLVD, in Lancaster. Lancaster's yearly Halloween celebration, and we let Edward wear his costume, however we are not sure what he actually is? So any help would be appreciate. I am serious, we don't know. Is it a dinosaur ? A Dragon? An Alligator? Email us with what you think it is dad@edwardday.com.

Mac and cheese

Ok one question, can a person live on Mac and cheese only? I think Edward is trying, 2 days in a row he has had Mac and cheese for dinner... Will tomorrow bring day 3? We don't plan it that way sometimes, he just wants to eat that only.... And believe me, Edward will let you know if he doesn't want to eat something and there is NO way you can make him, unless you enjoy picking up vomit.. He can make himself vomit anytime he wants. No really the skill set we were hoping for him to have,,,

Great game

Well yesterday (Tuesday), Edward made an appearance at the New Vista vs Cole volleyball game. I like going to that game every year, as I use to teach at Cole. I brought Edward's ear plugs and it can get loud in the gym during a volleyball game. See picture below. The girl's team did great in the end ended up winning.. WAY TO GO... Well tomorrow I have a very long day. 9 straight  hours of parent conferences.

Oh we took Edward to the doctor yesterday to make sure nothing was wrong, he has been stuffed up for a few weeks. In the end there was nothing wrong with him. So that was a big relief. Oh, they did weigh him and his weight is now 25 pounds 4 oz.. OMG where did little tiny Edward go? he is now about 25 times the size that he was when he was born.. Well goodnight

Busy weekend

Well we had a busy weekend and even a busier Sunday. Today we went to Owen Bartlett baptism (friends of ours) then we went to there house. After that we came home and Edward and I played while mommy went to help a friend pack for her big move back east to Maine. We then, after Edward's nap took Selena home, a former student of mine who has been helping Melissa's mom take care of small jobs in the nursing home (she needs volunteer hours for AVID). After that we went to Toys R Us and bought Edward something that his therapist recommended. Well Edward's school pictures are in. he had them taken about a month ago but we keep in secret again so we could surprise everyone with the pictures.
