Another long day

Well it was a VERY VERY VERY long day. I spent nearly 24 straight hours in Edward's room. Oh my goodness. I was going stir crazy by the time Melissa arrived...
Good news in away, if Edward has a good night, and that is a big IF, then we might be doing home tomorrow. Check this blog tomorrow for updates on whether or not we are home....

All night long

Well last night I spent the night with Edward at the hospital. He did great, he sleep right through 2 breathing treatments and one clearing of his noise. He is such a good little sleeper, however trying to untangle him in the morning, well that is another story. He is usually so tangled up in tubes that they have to disconnect everything, don't worry we make sure they don't get around his neck!!!! It is quite a sight....

Below is what Edward was trying to do right before his nap... Currently he is sleeping like a little baby dreaming of going home soon.... We hope, but only time will tell...

Back to... well not good

ok if you have not heard, Edward was admitted to AV Hospital today, he has RSV, a "common" respiratory virus" in young babies. We are not sure how long he will be there, mommy is spending the night with him...
When I got home from the hospital our house was silent and I had no one to wrestle with, give a bath to, or read a story to... The only people I have to keep me company our Kariya and his Brother.... I am so sad and alone, and VERY SCARED....

Talk talk talk

Well today when we got home from school we found a box on the porch from Edward's great Aunt Bette and Uncle Gary Goulden. We opened it and found lots of treasures from Lake Placid NY. Some of which I will keep secret for now.. But to thank them we had to Facetime/Skype with them. So we did with both at the same time.. See picture below. Edward had not idea were to look.. Oh well... Time to head off to bed, early meetings in the morning.

Off to Church and watching golf????

Well today we headed off to church as we want Edward to grow up with God in his life as Melissa and I both believe that all the prayers that people we sending our way really helped get Edward through his very very premature birth.. Faith has unbelievable power if you believe and we all certainly do..

Well after church we headed home and Edward and I played a little and I decided to try and watch some hockey with him well he didn't seem to much into it.. However the moment I switched over to the golf tournament to check on Tiger Woods, he started to stare at the screen, she the picture below. There was not even any movement on the screen and he seemed to like whatever was their... Does this mean he might play golf instead???? Oh well whatever makes him happy... Well goodnight...

full day of playing and hockey of course

Well today we spent the day playing, and Edward just loves all his toys, check out a few pictures below. Edward also went to see his buddy Luke for his first Hockey night in Canada of the season. Edward and Luke just kind of stared at each other, then they went and did their own thing. After we returned home, Edward took a bath with the help of daddy and then off with mommy for cereal and bed... Speaking of bed time to hit the hay... goodnight

Peaceful night with Edward

Well tonight I got to spent a little father and son time with Edward as Melissa went out to a Pamper Chef party with a friend from school. Edward and I watched a little hockey, played a little and of course wrestled. Boy is Edward ever rough, he always seems to win when we are wrestling.. Maybe one of these days he might let me win..... Well Edward and I had story time and then off to bed he went after cereal.... Well not too much planned this weekend... Rain has but off our LA Zoo plans.... Well goodnight. Rainy Day and school Dance

Well today we had a very rainy day, so Mommy dressed Edward in his new rain coat... Check it out below. I guess the new rain coat matches his new fire truck I bought him awhile ago.
After school Edward and I headed home to get a quick bite, then we headed off to his new therapy, OT. It went really well, the new therapist had some really good ideas about why Edward won't take solids yet. One is he has not back teeth and the food slides on his gums, which makes sense, and two.. he has a sensor problem in his mouth, which she showed us he has by putting a vibrating toy in his mouth which he just held their. The therapist said most kids don't like it, but Edward liked it because of the stimulating feeling it gave him in his mouth. Don't worry having sensor problems in his mouth are normal with Premature babies and can be "solved".
After therapy we headed to my school for the Winter Ball. oh boy, as soon as we got there all my kids came running over to see Edward, and boy does he love the attention. He just loved looking at everyone and looking at the flashing lights.... We even danced with him for awhile. (see picture below)

NEW RIDE For Edward

Well Edward's new ride came in... Check out the picture below... Edward had a great day again today, he continues to stand when ever he can and is side stepping more, so oh boy we are very very close.. Nothing else really exciting today...  Hope Everyone is doing great....

First Day back

Well Edward returned to day care today as we returned to work. Edward really seems to enjoy himself at day care, I even saw him steal another kids bottle at feeding time as I was walking in. Oh no does this mean we are really going to have our hands full later.. Not sure... I am feeling much better today as I sleep for almost 12 hours last night... Melissa was very tired today so it was her turn to goto bad early.. I did take a video of Mommy and Edward playing/Melissa trying to get Edward to walk.. She was unsuccessful but will successful in away too... If that doesn't make any sense then go check out the new video on Edward's Youtube channel. Off to Church and the Park

Well today we headed off to church and Melissa decided to try out the nursery at the Waters family church in Fresno. OMG, it was so nice and she actually got up the strength to leave him with the teachers in the nursery for awhile, don't worry they gave her a pager just in case something happened which it never did of course.)
After that Edward went shopping with mommy so she could find some more stuff for Edward since of course he has nothing.... (Just kidding of course about not having anything)

Later we headed to a park in Fresno, oh my gosh did Edward ever have a great time... I have added a new photo album on Edward's new photo page on edwardday.com of lots of pictures from the park. We went to the zoo zoo zoo

Well today, Edward went to the Fresno zoo.. We had such a great time, he really enjoyed looking and touching all the animals, well touching the ones in the petting zoo. We all had a great time, Edward even found a truck to ride on, go check out Edward's you tube channel for a video of him riding the truck at the zoo and for a special bonus video of Edward and Melissa getting there picture taken together at the photo booth at the zoo.. We have arrived

Well we have arrived in Fresno safe and sound. Edward slept the whole way so it was very difficult try and get him to goto sleep again, but after a hour or so he finally gave in. Lots to do tomorrow with his aunt and uncle. So Time to go to sleep.. LOTS OF PICTURES TO POST TOMORROW.... GOODNIGHT

Our bags are pack and we are ready to go

As the song goes, our bags are packed and we are ready to go sleeping here inside the door can't wait to go to Fresno. Well maybe that is my version. Tomorrow we head off to Fresno...molts of exciting things we will be doing and going to see, so look for updates on edwardday.com. Off to dinner at grandma

Well tonight we headed over to grandma Campbell's for dinner. We decided to try and go over every Wednesday night so she can see Edward at least once a week. Edward sure does like to look at everyone at the nursing home.. Oh boy is Edward ever standing up a lot.... He stood up at the fence in lots of places, his cube his grandpa and nana Campbell got and his little people zoo. Oh did I mention that he tried to climb on top of his cube... Oh boy I think Edward might be a climber.
Well preparations have begun for Edward's second road trip to Fresno to see his great aunt and uncle waters ... Hopefully this time we take a little less, last time I think we took half the house.., we shall see...

Stand up if you are Edward

Well first Edward's PT went great today. He is really starting to side step and has even walked from one object to another while holding on.... He if course pulls himself up on everything . Everything at day care, the fencing in the living room , in the bath tube and even in his crib tonight. Oh boy we are so so close. I have uploaded two more videos to Edward's you tube channel, one of him talking while Melissa tries to change him and one of Melissa trying to read a book to Edward. Fun day at home.... Boy is it cold

Well today we spent a restful day a home.... Edward spent the day playing, eating, sleeping, playing, eating..... Well you get the picture. Really too cold to do that much, it is only in the 30's here in Lancaster and that is the high...if it would only snow......tomorrow back to work, early for me as I begin to tutor my kids before and after school for the state tests in May.... Well nothing else new so goodnight...

Busy day

Well Edward had a busy day... First we went to Valencia for the morning, then we drove back to Lancaster. Then we took a brief pause to rest before heading over to,Linda's Brunner's to help a celebrate Natalie Barber's birthday.... We had such a great time.... Then we headed home, Edward took a bath and while we were in the bath tub, his grandma Day wanted to facetime, we were busy but we called her back and to our surprise Edward got to see on FaceTime for the first time ever his great great aunt Bernice, oh boy was excited, Edward did more talking during the FaceTime call then I have ever heard.., he continued to talk so I took a video of him talking playing and standing..... Edward discovers tissues

Well as you can see from the picture below, Edward discovered tissues, I guess he just likes to pull out all the tissues from the box... He emptied one entire box....everything else here is going great...sorry to make this short, just really tired, had a very long day......

What a difference a week makes, last week Edward would stand a little bite, now he stands whenever he is near something that will support him, and he shows off a little by releasing one had, and only holding on with one hand..,, I think we are getting close to us first few steps with no help.... Stay tuned to this blog for continuing coverage of the countdown to first Edward walking....who knows maybe just maybe.... This weekend and or by the end of the month.....

Well I uploaded more video of Edward today, one video of him playing in the tube and another of him playing with his cube his grandpa and nana Campbell gave him.
Well one quick story, today at daycare Edward fell asleep in his high chair so they picked him up and tired to put him down for his nap, but guess who woke up and won't go back to sleep.... You guessed it Edward, so he slept a total of 10 minutes today. They said he just played with all the toys while the other kids were sleeping, I guess he got anything and everything he wanted..

Fire truck is her and Edward continues get closer

Well first the fire truck has arrived.. Hurray, I almost cried when I opened it up, I have not seen it in like 35 years! I put Edward in it today, he is a little too small but he tried to use it like a walker. See picture elbow.
Also Edward must have stood up ten or more times tonight and even did a little side stepping as he gets closer to walking while holding onto objects like the couch...l oh boy we are just a week or two away from Edward walking.....when he walks I will have full coverage of it on edwardday.com, no new video tonight will upload one tomorrow night,,,, oh and Edward has learned to climb n things too. It Bly took him like 10 seconds to go from sitting on the floor to standing in his chair.., oh boy we are going to have are hands full soon,,,,

Edward stands and I got the video

Well today after school Edward first stood next to his red chair, oh and he also figured how to get in and out of it. I got a video of it and posted it on his YouTube channel.
Later after dinner , with the help from mommy, he stood next to the couch and I video of that too, him standing up... Finally....
Oh about Edward's first day back at daycare, well it didn't go great when Melissa dropped him off, as we expected ge cried and cried, broke her heart to leave. But when I picked him up he was eating but was really happy to see me... And that makes me feel good... They also started to give Edward some solids we sent in and so far so good... Go Edward Go....

We are going back, Edward heads back and hockey is back

Well tomorrow we head back to work, Edward head back to daycare, and we wish we had one more week off. There is a 30 % chance of snow tonight but we won't get that lucky. We are just sad not to be able to spent 24/7 with Edward, speaking of Edward I uploaded two new video today to Edward's YouTube channel so please go heck them out.
Well in case you didn't hear the NHL is back! To celebrate Edward decided to stand up in his chair.... Oh boy... I am still trying to get video of him going up to standing position.... Sorry he just will never do it when I have my phone out ready to go.....

USA USA, new video and photo uploaded

Well Edward and I on Saturday morning watched team USA beat Sweden to win the U20 junior ice hockey tournament, Edward wore his brand new USA hockey jersey, thanks again uncle Gary for the jersey. See picture below.
Edward and I spent a lot of time together again today as Melissa had some running around to do, I took two videos of Edward and uploaded them to his YouTube channel, a link is on the homepage of edwarrday.com. One video is Edward chasing the cat around and the other is Edward giving me a hair, nose, teeth and face exam, he does it all...So please go check them out.
Finally I also added a new album to the picture page on edwardday.com,it is called jan 2013 pictures, I will be uploading all the pictures for January in that album only to make it easier. So please check weekly for new pictures.

One final note, since it is much easier now to upload video just to his YouTube channel directly from my iPhone, I hope to post a new video at least every other day so please check daily to see if any new content has been added to his YouTube channel..,.

A day with daddy

Edward continues to stand and long search is over

Well first Edward continues to stand up holding on to things, actually today during PT, he started to cruise a little, not a lot but it is a start. For those of you who don't know what cruising is, it is walking along furniture while holding on to it. Boy we might be walking sooner rather than later..,.. Our goal is for Edward to walk by the middle of Feb.... It might just happen,

As some of you are aware, I have been in search of the exact pedal power fire truck I played with as a kid for Edward and guess what.... I finally found it, below is a snap shot of the fire truck from the Sears catalogue in 1970s and the other picture is of the one I found. Just a few stickers and two ladders and he will be all set..... Hurray! I am so excited for Edward to have the same exact toy that I had 30 some years ago!

Edward begins to stand

Well Edward has begun to pull up to standing position on his own. In English, Edward has managed to get from his butt to his feet on his own while holding on to something. He doesn't do it all the time so it is hard to get video but I am trying. I will post on this blog when I do. Edward likes his learning videos

Well today, Melissa put in one of Edward's phonics videos and he seem to cuddle right up with mom and make himself right at home, check out the picture below.
