Edward plays

Well for the first time today, when Melissa went to pick up Edward he didn't want to go he was having too much fun with his day care friends, I guess everyone wants to hang out with Edward at day care. He even has a little girl friend Melissa's says. I guess every time he gets upset and starts crying (we he is Hungary , you don't let Edward get Hungary,), she crawls over to him and pats his back, she only does it for him they told Melissa..., oh no, he Is dating already....,,

New Kitchen

Well today Edward got a "hand me down" kitchen from his buddy Luke... THANKS BUDDY.. Edward loves it... Check out the photos below. Edward is doing great transitioning back to day care. Today when Melissa picked him up, he was standing in the middle of all these foam blocks just cruising around... We are getting very close..... Well tomorrow is OT after school, as we try to get him to eat solids, we have taken him off bottles all together except for in the middle of the night. The OT thinks this might help him from forming bad habits.

New weight

Well Edward's new weight is in, it is......drum roll please....20 lbs 8oz or 20 and 1/2 pounds... Go Edward go.. He is now in the 10th percentile, up from 3rd at 12 months for weight.... Way to go Edward.... Edward also did great at his feeding therapy today as well. the therapist got him to eat vegetable stocks and some cheese puffs....Hurray, see picture below of Edward picking out his cheese puffs yesterday at the grocery store. I have also uploaded a new video to his YouTube channel of him just walking in the living room with his walker. This time he just decided to do it himself and we'll he started to use it as a plow, if you watch the video you will see what I mean..,, well goodnight from Lancaster CA, tomorrow Edward heads back to day care and mommy heads back to work :(

home

We are home and trying to get use to the Pacific time zone again,,, Edward never got off Pacific time as he would not go to bed until 10pm EST each night which is 7pm PST which is why he never got off our time. Since last night post never went up for some weird reason, the last night in SC we took Edward to his second hockey game and his Great Uncle Gary Goulden came to meet Edward, and of course go to them game with us, see pictures below of Edward at the game.
Today Melissa spent a day one on one with Edward as she won't be going back to work until Wednesday, tomorrow Edward goes to his doctor for his 18 month check up so get ready for his new weight and height tomorrow. Well goodnight everyone

First full day in SC

Well Edward spent his first full day in SC. He sure does love all the attention he is getting from his aunt and cousin. They sure do love him a lot. I have posted a new album of pictures on Edward picture page on edwardday.com and also uploaded some more videos to Edward's youtube channel so please go check them out.

Our trip was postponed a day due to snow... Yes it does snow in CA, but we are rebooked and are know going from Thursday to Sunday... Oh boy is tomorrow going to be a very long day .

Good day with dad

Well Edward spent the playing with daddy as we get ready for our big trip back east, we might have to postpone the trip a day due to the weather but we will have to wait and see. Well nothing else really exciting going on, Edward continues to get stronger and bigger daily, before you know it he will be playing hockey.....

A long two days

Sorry about no blog yesterday, we had a crazy 24 hours. It all started with us going to LEGOLAND with his two cousins from NY, Matt and Alison and ended with us in urgent care in Palmdale. To make a long story short, Edward started to run a fever on Saturday, we gave him some baby Tylenol which his mom packed, very smart, however at Legoland his fever got really high and he didn't want to do anything, we put him down to play and he just sat there and cried. So Melissa took him to a Mommy and me room they have at LEGOLAND to see if a nap would help. After about an hour of napping he woke up and seemed very hot, so we rushed him over to the first aid station at LEGOLAND, they took his temp and it was 102.5. WAY TOO HIGH, so we undressed him, gave him some more medicine, the fever went down enough that they let us go and told us to get him to a doctor ASAP. No knowing if we would be hospitalized in Carlsbad we made sure it was safe to drive home and then take him to the doctor in Lancaster, which he were told was ok. So we rushed back to the hotel, said goodbye to his NY cousins and raced back to the Antelope Valley. While  in route, Melissa called into the switchboard for his doctor in Palmdale since it was a Sunday and he was not open. Within 20 minutes the doctor called us back told us to begin breathing treatments and if we have any concerns to take him to an urgent Care he works with. We made it make in 2 1/2 hours from Carlsbad to Lancaster, it must be a NEW RECORD..
Once we got back home, we gave him a breathing treatment and he seemed to be much better, but just to make sure things are ok, we took him to urgent care and come to find out he had a BAD EAR INFECTION... so we got medicine last night and thing morning the ear infection was all cleared up.. Hurray and the doctor said his lungs didn't sound any worse then when he got discharged from the hospital. So we caught it again, just in time.... We have to continue breathing treatments through the week and he has to continue to Ear infection meds for 4 more days.

Oh and at the end of the appointment we asked him if we could fly with him, since we are suppose to be going to SC this Wednesday to be with his Aunt who just lost her husband.  So tomorrow Edward and I are staying home and then Wednesday we all head to LAX for out trip to SC through Saturday...Ready or not SC here comes Edward...

We are here

Well we have arrived in Carlsbad for our big trip over to........ Well some of you know, the rest well have to wait until tomorrow to see. My sister arrived safely with her family, She was so excited to see Edward, last time she saw Edward was right after his brother passed away when he still weighed around a pound, so she was so so so excited... V Day

Well Valentine's has come and gone. Edward passed out lots of Valentine's at daycare today and check out the shirt mom but on Edward today... I think she is trying to send a message to all the girls. Edward got a special present from his Grandma Campbell, check out the new video I uploaded to his youtube channel to see what it is. We had such a great time together.. goodnight everyone I am so tired.. Edward had me up twice last night, at 12am and 3:30am.. Boy did he ever want to party last night.

Getting ready for tomorrow

Well tonight Edward got ready for his first Valentine's Day at daycare. We spent about 15-20 minutes after dinner getting all his valentines ready for his classmates... He, of course had to taste them to make sure they tasted just right, see picture below. Big day for Edward tomorrow, wonder how many valentines he might get from all the girls in his class, Well goodnight...

First day back

Well Edward had a great day at daycare. He slept for 2 hours, ate lots of food and when I picked him up he came crawling over to me with a toy plane in his mouth, not sure what that means. We hope that the good days keep coming and the bad ones are far far far behind us. Well goodnight .

Back to " normal" tomorrow

Well tomorrow we head back to work for the first time since Friday and Edward goes back to daycare for the first time since he was in the hospital. Keep healthy little buddy. Today we expanded out the gating system in the living room to make more room to play for Edward. We have really out grown this house with all of Edward's toys. Below you can see you can see what I am talking about in our living room.

One long day

Well forget about all those plans, this am at 1 we got the call that my brother in law who was hospitalized yesterday was on life support and only had a few houris . My mom, who was here, rushed to change her reservation and off to SC, where they live, my sister and brother in law. A few hours later he passed. We are in shock, my sister is Melissa's age and my Rotherham in law was just a little older than me.... We have made plight reservations for all 3 of us to go back on the 20th to be with my sister, until then other family members will be there. Please check my sister in your prayers. We are just all in shock, but Edward is trying to cheer everyone up.

Special visitors , hanging out

Well today Edward had 2 special visitors, his Grandma Campbell and a former student of mine who thinks of me as her dad, Georgina Flores. Edward sure does love everyone, he showed his "big sister" all his toys and she brought him a valentines day present. I guess he has a valentine. Edward and I also hung out together after his special guest left, he got so excited to watch hockey that he tired to climb right up into the TV, see the video I posted on his YouTube page. Boy does Edward love watching hockey.

Big weekend ahead

Well Edward has a full weekend of activities planned. Tomorrow he has lunch with both his grandma's and lots of fun of course as well. Sunday we have a clean out the garage day, so dad can put his car back in the garage, and Monday well, you will have to wait and see. Lots of new content added to Edward's you tube channel. Two new videos, one of Edward going after my iPhone, he really wants an iPhone, and the second one is Edward walking with his 4 wheeler. Edward is improving everyday on the walking front... We are getting close to Edward taking his first steps without the aid of anything, so stand by for daily walking updates and don't forget to check out the new videos on Edward's youtube channel, link on the home page of Edwardday.com.. Another day with grandma

Edward enjoyed another day of playing with grandma. He sure does love his grandma Day. I guess they have a game they play, grandma builds something with the mega blocks and Edward of course destroys it, sounds fun to me. Well long weekend ahead and we even have a little special trip planned but you will have to wait until this weekend to see we're we are going,

Guest arrives great doctor visit

Well as you can already tell from the other post, Edward had a great doctor's visit today...clean bill of health... Hurray.
Edward's special guest has arrived from Florida to take care of him during the day, even though Edward is cleared to go back to daycare we are going to give him one more week to get stronger before we send him back to the germ fest of daycare..... Oh boy.... Lots of time to ave fun with grandma Day!

Great doctor's visit today!!! Edward is off oxygen, only needs the breathing therapy if he really starts to cough and he is cleared to go back to daycare next week!!!!

Big Day on Tuesday

Well Tuesday is a big day, first Edward goes back to the doctor for his first check up since he was released from the hospital on Friday, so we are hopeful that we might get off oxygen and the breathing therapy may decrease, but only time will tell. Check this blog tomorrow after 11:30 am PST for the results for the doctor's appointment, I will not be sending out mass text message tomorrow due to all the work that still needs to be done before grandma Day arrives. Oh Edward's grandma Day arrives from Florida so that I can finally return to work, we are not sure how long Edward will be out of daycare so we are grateful that grandma Day has agreed to come out to CA for as long as she Edward is out of daycare, thanks again!!!

Another Fun Day

Well we spent another fun day inside with Edward. Today Edward and I played football in the living room while Melissa did her grades for the first semester, for the record Edward won 42-0. Boy he won't let up, he keep coming at me and laughing the whole time, he sure is a happy kid. Edward continues to do breathing therapy once every 4 hours and also continues to be on oxygen when he sleeps. We go back to the doctor on Tuesday so I hope to have good news then.
We are trying to limit where we take Edward to help prevent him from getting RSV again. So we have put all outing on hold for the time being and all trips to see Grandma Campbell at the nursing home on hold until flu season is over. We can't stop can't prevent r stop daycare but so we can only limit interactions outside of daycare, hope everyone understands. Below is a picture of happy Edward today. Goodnight everyone...

first full day

Well we spent our first day at home, it is a little stressful with Edward back on oxygen at night and having to suction his nose before every breathing treatments is a little stressful, however it is for Edward so we will find the strength to get through this. Hopefully on Tuesday when Edward and I return to the doctor we have good news but only time will tell. Well very tired, just waiting to give Edward his breathing treatment at 4am so I can goto bed. Below is a picture Melissa took tonight of Edward and I watching hockey night in Canada together, I sure do love that little boy....

WE ARE HOME

well we are home and settling in. We are a little stressed having oxygen at home again, but it will be nice to have everyone back under one roof for the first time in a week. Edward is still unable to attend day care, so grandma Day is flying in Tuesday night to take care of Edward so Melissa and I can return to work.. THANK GRANDMA.. Nothing else really new, except that WE ARE HOME!!! I will upload the pictures of us leaving tomorrow. goodnight
