Supper Hot Day

Well the temps in Lancaster are approaching 120, so nothing really exciting happening today. Tomorrow we have a busy day, 2 therapies, and 2 other appointments. Oh boy I hope this hot weather does not last long, I feel myself melting already....

busy day

Well we had a very busy day, first we did some shopping at Costco and Toy R Us, and in Toys R Us Edward shared a secret with us, He told us he is Spiderman, see picture below.
After we returned we went to Day Water Park, or as we call it, our back yard. Go check out Edward's Photo Stream for Pictures of our fun in the Water....
Finally we meant his buddy Luke in Palmdale to go swimming at the Embassy's Suites Hotel.. Luke's mom used points to get a room so we could use there indoor pool. Lots of fun.. No pictures though, sorry... Well I am getting tiered just thinking about it...
Oh wait, Edward continues to practice walking and I have uploaded a new video to his you tube channel of Edward playing the walking game, he is getting really good, he can walk about 8 feet before he falls down.. not too bad.. Luau

Edward went to the Luau today at his grandma Campbell's nursing home. See below the during and after picture. Boy was he ever tired. It is so hot here, temps into the 100's. So hot we can't even go outside with Edward during the day... I hope this weather cools off soon before we felt.
Seeking of that, we went to Super Target today grocery shopping and we found another boat for Edward to use in the pool and spa, however they didn't have it in stock at our target or anyone around ours. However they have it were his Grandma and Grandpa Day live, Thanks again for buying it for Edward and shipping it to him... Everyone will have to wait to see what it is, but I will give you a hint, it will watch a new outfit we recently got for Edward.. Well goodnight...

Fun Day With Edward as he Learns to Walk

Well nothing really exciting today. Edward had a great PT session today. He really can walk up and down stairs as long as you hold his hand. He is getting a little more confidence about walking but he still won't let go as much as he needs to. When he got home, we played a game, Edward walked from me to the lego table and back. During the game I kept moving back and in the end he walked about 6 feet on his own. Not too bad. Then tonight, instead of crawling from the couch to the walker, he walked the 5 feet, so maybe he will get more and more confidence and walk more than he crawls. Well that is it.. Great day

Well Edward and I enjoyed a great day, we played hard and he took a nice nap in the afternoon. oh and did I mention that he sleep through the night!!! Hurray.. Oh one question for everyone, when do kids learn how to pick up? The reason I ask is that today I took over 15 minutes to clean the living room while Edward was napping and it took him 5 minutes to destroy it, see picture below.. Well good night.

Another long night on Monday

Well Edward was up a lot again on Monday night and had a fever, at times, close to 102. We went to see his doctor today and he thinks it is a virus going around and he should be over it in 3-5 days. So I guess we have a lot more long night ahead of us.
Well the good news is his GI doctor is very pleased with Edward's progress, and sees no need to surgical procedure on

him at thus this time. Oh and we have a new weight and height.. Drum roll please....
Edward's new weight is ......... 23 pounds 3 ounces and his height is 33 inches, we are almost to 3 feet.. Oh  boy I think Edward might be tall like his daddy.....

Edward's first day of vacation

Well Edward enjoyed a great first day of vacation today, oh and yes he slept through the night last night, thanks goodness. He spend the day playing and running around with is cart and walker, oh and he delivered some supplies to grandma, see picture below. Tomorrow we are off to Encino CA to see Edward's GI doctor to see if we need to scope him, so this will be stressful for us.
One final bit of news, Edward's fever is gone and I guess at OT therapy today Edward learned to jump on a trampoline, will kind of I guess, I was not there. Melissa said he went from one foot to the other, so I guess it is time to buy him his first trampoline, to practice on. Well that is it, goodnight.

Long NIght

Well we had a long night, last night. Melissa noticed Edward felt warm and guess what.. He had a temp  of 101.5. So he did not sleep really well and neither did his parents. We got the fever to go down with medication, but it was a very long night. Today we spent the day in with Edward as he appeared to be much better. Melissa colored with Edward with the crayons ( I took some video of it and uploaded it to youtube, see links below or you can visit Edward's you tube channel. You will also find a video there of him playing with a puzzle) Tomorrow we hope to get back to normal, as he has OT on Monday and Tuesday morning all through the summer. We are really hoping that we can get over this little speed bump and start to enjoy the summer with Edward.. Well goodnight, we hope tonight is much better than last night.....

Fun Day

Well we sure had a fun day today. We took Edward out back so he could play in his sprinkler toy we got him, but he was not to into it. Then we let him play with his swing set that he got from his Grandma and Grandpa last year and that he really loved playing with. After that we gave him a bath, since he got really dirty outside. Then Melissa walked him over to the nursing home to visit his Grandma Campbell. I guess, Melissa told me, that when they got there and were near her room, she took him out of his stroller and gave him his walker and told him to go to grandma's room. Well since Edward can't recognize numbers, he started to peep in each room until he found his grandma, then we was so happy. Last day of daycare

Well today was sad, as we had to say goodbye to Edward's daycare teachers in his class, as he starts summer break and when he returns he will be in a higher class. Thanks Ms. Staci and staff for all your love and support for Edward this past year.
Edward had his first of many doctors appointments today, first it was the eye doctor. The doctor says Edward's eyes look good, he does think Edward may need glasses for near sight put we will deal with that when he gets older. As the doctor says, Edward's world is with in a foot so no need yet. That was such great news, and the doctor could not believe how big Edward has gotten. This eye doctor examined Edward several times in the NICU, so he knows how same Edward was in the being. Next up is the GI doctor next week. Well time to get some rest, as we have a fun weekend planned..

Big news

Well, we have huge news... Edward ate his first happy meal today... See pictures below and goto Edward's photo stream for the rest. We pull his walkers and what does he do, push toys along the floor so he can walk.. COME ON EDWARD, let go already... Well what a great day..... Well our summer vacation has OFFICIALLY begun!!! Hurray.. It is going to be a busy one, that is for sure. We only have 7 weeks off, and have lots of doctor's appointments to goto, and a possible procedure to get scheduled before August 12th. Nothing else. I will explain the doctor's appointments as they approach. Very tired, and need to rest up for day one of our vacation. One day to go

Well we are just one day away from vacation finally starting.... About time! Edward had another god day, after daycare we went over to see grandma Campbell and he walked all over the place. He even showed her how he loves his puffs. Oh he walked outside in the court yard with his walker, still is ready to let go 100% of the time..,. Well that is it.. Nothing new.... 

Two training days to go

Well two more training days and we will officially be on vacation hurray.... Edward has just 4 days left in his current day care room, then he is off for the summer and when he returns in August he is graduating up to the next room... Hurray Edward.

Well when we picked up,Edward at day care mom decided to being him home and play with the water table... Oh boy what a mess. I took a video that I will upload to YouTube tomorrow, sorry took it on the camera not the iPhone, so it takes longer. Happy early Father's Day

Well just want to wish all the father's a early father's day. Today. We went to a retirement party for Melissa's old principal and boy did Edward ever have a good time. Batman is here end of school

Well first, school. Today we had our last day with kids until August 15th... So it was a good and a bad day. I personally had to say goodbye to some amazing kids. This group of kids has been with me for the last 2 years and we have gone through a lot with me. They were when William died and Edward was rushed to LA, and they were there when he finally came. As tradition has it, I had the pleasure of giving out to one of them, the second annual William Kenneth Day award for excellence in Math, see a picture of the award below.
 However the good part about today is that the school year is finally over!!! To celebrate we went to our friend Pat's house. and we all decided to dress up a like.. See picture below.. Well it has been a long 2 days, so goodnight...

Great news and great therapy

Well first a medical update, Edward's blood work came back normal so his allergy doctor has the sinus problem round down to two possible causes. 1, reflux in the stomach which Edward will have to be scooped to see ifbthatnis the issue or 2, a small gland behind the nose might be infected, sorry don't remember the name of it. If that is the problem Edward will need surgery to fix it, so I guess either way Edward will be headed back to the hospital for at least one procedure this summer.

Edward's OT therapy went great, he showed his therapist how well he can eat fries. She said she couldn't believe how well he was doing chewing them. At one point he put half a fry in his mouth, she freaked out, he just smiled, chewed it up and swallowed it like it was no big deal... 

Well two more days to left with students this year!!!!! We still actually have to goto in services next Monday-Wednesday so Edward will be spending one more week in daycare. Well goodnight everyone in blog land..... 

Great Afternoon

Well today, the first thing his teachers told me was that he walked at daycare today!!! Only 2-3 steps but he did it on his own!!! Hurray Edward. When I heard that, I was so happy, that I gave him a big hug, and we walked out together hand and hand. When we got home we told mom, and we sat on the floor and had Edward walk back and forth between us, he was so happy. We were sitting about 8 feet apart. He loved the new walking game.
After that, we went to staples with mom and guess who walked into staples, Edward hand and hand with me, see picture below. After our staples trip, we stopped by McDonald's were mom got Edward a ice cream cone as a reward. See video on his YouTube channel of him eating it. Tomorrow we head back to the allergy doctor to get the results of the blood tests, we are hoping for good news but I am not really to optimist. Well goodnight.

Nothing really new

Nothing really exciting going on today. Edward had a great day at daycare and Melissa and I are down to 4 more work days!!!
Not sure why the video from yesterday is upside down, I am trying to turn it around, so bare with me. Hope everyone is doing great

Family trip Edward tries a new food

Well first, Edward tried a new food today and really liked it. He tried some fries from McDonald's (Their are a few pictures below of him eating the french fries), I know not the most healthy food in the world but it is something. He also tried some ice cream from Dairy Queen, mommy got some video of him eating his ice cream, click the link below to view the video of hime trying ice cream.
We also went on a family trip to the mall were we all got hair cuts and Edward tired out some of the coin operated rides at the mall, check out the picture below of Edward trying out the riding toys..

Long 2 days

Well sorry about no blog on Friday, I was very sick, temp up to almost 103, but I feel 100% better. Well now an update on Edward. Edward had a great day on Friday, and today he had even a better day. He spent the afternoon with mom and the mall playing in the play area. They then came home and we all went outside to try out Edward new water tool, click the link below to check out a video and check out picture on Edward's photo page. His web site has FINALLY updated to include photos from June 2013. I hope to update the web site a lot during the summer months. Only one more week of work left until August.. Busy Night

Well Edward sure had a busy night. First we had OT therapy, and then Edward headed off to the promotion dance at my school for the 8th graders. Boy did they all run over to see him and he of course loved all the attention. He also just loved watching all the lights, boy did he ever have a good time.
Tomorrow, Edward has his second Speech Therapy.

Here ago again

Edward's sinus are infected again. The doctor had a sinus CT scan done and he said, "It was worse then he thought". We are on a stinger antibiotic and also a steroid this time. They did some basic allergy tests which came back negative . He also drew some blood to check Edward's immune system. Why do I think we are in for a long roller coaster ride again. 

Oh and on top of all this, when they called the insurance company to get authorization for the CT scan they wanted to know if it was for William??? Are you kidding me.... They made a difficult situation even more difficult. Thanks so much Blue Cross..

Up and Down day

Well the day started off with a scary moment. When I woke Edward up this morning one of his eyes would not open. It was full of sleepy sets and was stuck closed. After washing his eye with warm water I finally got it to open. Everything seemed ok, until Melissa got a call from Daycare, they are worried about his eye. They say it is not pink eye since there is no discharge, and think it might be allergy related. Oh boy, we thought we were good with, but I guess not. So tomorrow I am taking the day so I can take him to the Allergy doctor in the morning in case the doctor wants to run any tests on Edward, this way he can get the results the same day. We are a little worried to say the least. And then tonight he started having really bad diarrhea. Oh boy, if it is not one thing then it is something else. Hold on little buddy school is almost over....
Edward seems fine, he wants to play hard and is always chasing after us when we leave the room. However is not with him is the person he seems to want to play with.. Fire under control, Edward destroys inside of house

Well the Powerstation fire is under control at the eastern end, the side towards Lancaster. Last report the fire was about 1/2 contained. Since Edward still is not going outside, as a precaution on our part. Edward has been playing hard inside the house. See the picture below of the mess Edward has made in the living room in about 1/2 an hour. Does he ever play hard. Tomorrow we are allowing Edward back outside at day care, as the air quality is back to "normal" for Lancaster in the spring.

Surprise trip called off

Well our surprise trip was called off today. We were suppose to goto Disneyland but due to the "Powerstation" fire, we decided to stay here just in case. The fire started in the mountains south of here but at the latest update says that the fire has  burned over 25000 acres and is about 10 miles from our house. There was ash falling at our house last night and much of today, so we decided to stay out incase in jumped the fire line and headed for the City. We are pretty safe being in the middle of Lancaster but you never know. (Below is a picture of the fire from Highway 14 and Ave H, about 3 miles from our house... Scary stuff
Edward could care less, as he spent the day inside running up and down the hall using his many riding toys.
I got  a paper today so we could see what the paper was saying and Edward decided to help us read it, see picture below. Well goodnight. We hope our house is still here in the morning..

Great Day

Well we had a great day today. Edward went to birthday party in Palmdale for his friend Ryan. Edward  got to go in a bounce house. I went with him and he just stood there with me watching all the other kids bounce. Tomorrow we are off to????????? You will have to wait for the blog...
