Great day in Santa Barbara

We had a great , fun day. Dillion and his mom came up to see us, they live in about 1 and 1/2 hours away. The boys had so much fun together . I have a lot of pictures and video but with no free wifi here, you will have to wait until tomorrow night to see it. 

Ok the big announcement I have been mentioning in this blog is that we had outmr backyard redone. We recently had the RV parking taken out so Edward could have a bigger backyard. Below are pictures of what our new backyard looks like.

Safely in Santa Barbara

We have arrived safely for our 2 day family vacation. Yesterday when we got here we went to the beach. Edward did ok until he fell down in the wet sand. Then he kept saying "all done, all done". We picked everything up went up to the side walk and found a swing set that he actually wanted to go on. He actually would not get off. Below are a few pictures. I have a video of Edward in the ocean but no free wifi at the Hyatt so will have to wait til we get home to up load it sorry!!!!! 

Off on family vacation

we are off on a family vacation today. Yesterday Edward went to see grandma Campbell as he has not seen her in awhile, we have been taking it away as mom recovers from surgery. 

Look for BIG news about our back yard on Thursday. 

Edward's inventive again

Well Edward used his smarts to once again invent a new "thing" for just him. See the weather in Lancaster has been over 100 degrees for about 7 straight days now and Edward is getting a little hot from the weather and well he created his own personal cooling room. See below. He also uses the freezer if he is just way too hot, I guess.

Fun day at?????

Well we traveled with Edward today down to......... Moorpark CA. I have friends that I graduated with in high school who live there. One is a middle school Math teacher and the other runs his own app programing company (Lolay). 

They have been so good to us since the boys where in the NICU and we are thankful for their friendship. 

See a few pictures below. They are moving to San Franciso soon and they have two boys one in 3rd grade and one in 2nd, and they decided to purge there toys. So we got a lot of great things to put away until Edward is a little older. We also took a lot if stuff that we will pass onto more needy families. Thank you again Gary, Lisa, Connor and Jack. 

Jump a quick hello

Well yesterday we ran down to Luke's house ( one of Edward's friends) to say hi and hang out for a few minutes. We were down in the area since we just got his birthday pictures and wanted to show them in person how great they came out. Below is a picture of Edward in Luke's push car. Today (Saturday), we are headed some where special we have never been before, check the blog later to see where....

Well Edward has this Xmas book that plays Xmas songs and he just rediscovered it and he inlays likes one song and he sings to it la la la la la la... Below is a link to the you tube video of him doing it, enjoy!!!

Funny Stories

Sorry the blog is late, I feel asleep early last night. Ok now for a funny story.

Yesterday (Tuesday), Edward was in his room and all of a sudden, Edward comes down the hall holding an empty box of tissues saying "Oh MAN", "Oh MAN", and Melissa wondered what is going on. Well as you can guess he decided to empty his box of tissues we have in his room, see the mess he made below.

Ok Funny story Number two: On Monday night Melissa was on the phone and Edward walks over to one of the night stands, grabs one of the monitors we have to listen to him at night and started talking in it like a phone, we heard hi and few words we couldn't understand and then he said mommy and gave it to hear, she played along talked a little and gave it back then he talked a little and said daddy, and gave it to me, I played alone as well and then gave it back, he finished off the conversation, which he have no idea what is was about, and then we herald bye and he put it back..,, Very fuunyto watch, below are a few picture of this as well..

Long night

Well last night was a long night. Melissa woke up with a bad reaction to a bug bite, so Edward and I took her to the ER at 2am. Then she woke up in the morning to discover that the medicine she was give at the ER she is allergic to. Edward was a champ through all of this and even sleep in with dad til 10am. She a picture below of Melissa's face. Not a good day at all 

Summer fun Day

Well we had a summer fun day today. Spa. water fun and popsicles. What a fun day we had. We also are getting ready for Edward's birthday. We are working on a BIG surprise in the coming weeks so stay tuned for that.   Edward also started school district testing today, and we continue more tomorrow. I will update this blog once we have our final testing results... Below are a few pictures of our fun day!!

Fun Day

We had a fun day. Edward's friend Luke came over for a play date and dinner. They first ate and then ran outside to play, Edward of course mowed the lawn and Luke played in the water.. Fun was had by all. Sorry to make this short, just tired...

Fun Night

Well Edward went over to see our friend Barbara Leonard tonight, we both use to teach with her at Cole Middle School. She has lots of animals and Edward loves animals as you may already know. First we ate KFC, Edward even brought his own chair, see pictures below. After dinner we head outside to see all the animals. Edward's favorite part was probably the chickens, we loved to try and talk to them. He also got on a horse and a tractor. Playing with mom again

Well mommy is getting better and Edward is so happy to be able to play with his mom again. Below are a few pictures of them playing trucks. 

Look for a big surprise tomorrow in the blog and Edward is off tonight to visit and do something he has only done ONCE in his life and it was exactly a year ago he did it the last time!!!! 

Awesome at Pictures Edward is

We had the best photos taken yesterday at JC Penney's. Usually is it hard to get Edward to smile or even want to be there, but yesterday we saw a totally different kid.... You won't believe some of the pictures we got. I don't want to show them all to you since many of you will be getting some after they come in, below is a small sample, you might have also noticed the collage of birthday picture on the home page of edwarday.com. Hearing aids ,check, fun day in Valencia, Check

Well we had the appointment with the ENT from LA Children's hospital at a satellite office in Valencia CA, and Edward is healthy enough for hearing aids. The doctor told us that there is a state law that requires anyone who needs hearing aids to see a ENT first, I guess it is a California thing. Well we got the prescription and sent it off to LA Children's hearing department, not sure why we had to do it but it does not surprise us since  LA Children's has not been the greatest hospital to deal with. We are actually thankful that Edward was never sent during his 109 days in the NICU.
After the doctor's appointment we met up with Edward's friend Dillion and his mom who we both use to work with. We went out to lunch and then went to  Toy R Us together. The boys had a ball, we would have done more put Edward feel asleep in the car! Below are a few pictures below, the rest can be found on the July 2014 photo page, here is the link:

Edward rides his bike correctly

Well about 2 years ago we bought Edward a four wheel bike to try and modivate him to walk and ride push toys, the only problem was he would always just use it like a walker until recently, with out any warning, he just got on it and rode it correctly , see pictures below. We both just looked at each other and couldn't believe what we were seeing... 

Ball pit here

Well the ball pit is up and going, it is even  bigger than we thought. I got in to try it and so did Edward however he went in through the top (pull the whole thing down on its side). Very funny to see. Pictures below of us in the pit.... 

Another mess

Well we have another mess and this time is night get really bad. See we decided to buy Edward a ball pit since he loves the one at OT so much, the only problem is the ball pit we bought comes with no balls (figure that one out). So we bought the ball pit online and it will be here tomorrow but we bought the balls today, and yes you probably guessed it Edward put the balls alm over the living room , see the picture below.....Their are 250 of them!!!! All over the place, I think I found them all but time will tell 

Visit to a special place

Today we took Edward over to see his God Mother, Diane Nagy. She hasn't seen Edward in almost a year and she was so happy to see him. She had so much stuff to give Edward that her grandson is too old for, and Edward just loves her and her husband. He gave her a huge hug and kiss and we were leaving and he blew them both kisses. Edward is so lucky to have her as his God mother.... Below are a few pictures of the visit today.
