Edward tells us what he wants

Well today after I had picked Edward up from daycare and we got home. We did our normal routine, which consists of him drinking some water and playing in the living room while I get changed. Well today was a little different, see while I was changing out of my school clothes Edward come walking holding a box of... Well look at the pictures below and you will see..... I think he was trying to tell me something.... Look for  web site update soon, with new content, sorry the updates have been a little slow, lots of stuff going on at school... Caught in time

 We took Edward to the Allegry doctor today, he has been really stuffed up lately. The doctor told us it was a good thing we brought him in. He told us he was begining to get a sinus infection and that we had caught it in time.. We asked him if he would still get them, remember we got the pneumonia so we were sure. 

He said yes everyone gets them but we should only get a few a year.... 

The best part, for Edward, about going to this doctor is he always comes home with anew toy. See the doctor has a prize bin for all the kids that go there. They get to pick out one thing. This time Edward picked out a new Hot Wheels car!

Fun Day at the Races

Well we finally made it down to the go kart races on Lancaster Blvd. This year we put the ear protection on Edward's ears to protect him from the loud noices and he didn't want any part of them. He just enjoyed listening to all the loud noises I guess. (He didn't have his eating aids on as we thought that might be too much for him).

After the races and a bath, mommy decided to get out some stamps to do some stamping with Edward, probably not the best idea, see picture below and you will see why..

Clean up clean up

Well today out of the blue, Edward started singing the clean up song, well his version of it while he was picking up, it was so funny, and this time I actually got a video of it, the link is below. Nothing else really exciting going on, it was too cold today, so we are going to go down to the blvd tomorrow to watch the finals of the Streets of Lancaster Grand Prix. (Every year a go cart league comes to lancaster and the city builds a temporary grand prix track down on Lancaster Blvd. Edward just loves to go and watch all the motion. (It has gotten cold all of a sudden, well into the 60s, which is cold when you just spend a few months in the high 90s low 100s.

HUGE EVENT

Huge NEWS!!! When Edward and I were playing trucks he came up to be and said , me poopy. I grabbed him and took him to his potty, and he went a little on the potty like a big boy!!!! Hurray !!!! This is the first time that Edward has told us he had to go before he went, usually he tells after the fact, hope it continues....

Great Speech therapy

On Wednesday night Edward had the best speech therapy session yet. He did everything she asked and more and was in a good mood the whole time. She was just amazed and how much of improvement we have seen in just over 2 weeks with his hearing aids, I guess it helps to be able to hear everything. In Therapy she is working on having Edward repeat back words and phrase and he can repeat almost everything he hears. I took 4 videos at the end of the session on Wednesday. Just so you understand the context of the video, at the end of each therapy session, if he was well behaved and worked she rewards him with a treat. Fire truck fire truck

Well today Edward took all his fire trucks and other vehicles and put them up on the couch while he was watching his early morning show. It was so funny, mommy took a few pictures, see them below. 

Attention East Coast!!! The Day family is coming for a visit. We are headed on a whirl wind tour of Florida and Pennsylvania in March, so get ready!!! Because ready or not here we come!!!

Funny story

Ok tonight while Edward was watching Cailliou, Cailliou started doing raspberries, well guess what Edward started doing, you guessed it, raspberries. It was so funny, you couldn't help but laugh. I tired to get a video but of course as soon as I take out my phone to video tape he stops doing it.

Oh well , Edward and I did play outside after school, Edward would live out back if we would let him, he just loves to be outside, which is a good thing when it is not 100 degrees, thankfully it has only been in the high 80's when we get home so we let him play out back, plus most of our yard is shaded in the afternoon thanks to a big pine tree our neighbors have.

Happy and strawberries

Edward looks like suck a big boy. Look at the picture of him below at speech therapy today. her is sitting in a chair like a big boy, coloring away and talking to his therapist, about what, he don't know, can understand him yet, even though he still be to saying more stuff that we can understand. We also discover tonight that he like strawberries, he must have eaten like 4-5 big ones we got at the farmer's market in Lancaster.

Love to shop

Well Edward either loves to shop or loves to push his shopping cart or both. I am voting for both.. He grabs his cart starts throwing things in there and he is off, oh and he always wants you to push those cows, aunt Bette you know exactly what I mean. We have pulled the cows so much that two wheels are falling off... Put he loves it and it is totally worth it to see him happy with a big smile....

Look World I can drink from a cup

Well Edward can OFFICIALLY drink from a regular cup (When he wants to). They have been working on it at preschool and he had finally mastered it, now if we could only get him to want to use the potty, he tells us right after he poops that he has pooped. Well it will come with time..
Edward also had a follow up appointment with the doctor about his hearing aids and the doctor was so happy to hear that Edward doesn't really give us a fuss about them, he just leaves them in like it is no big deal.

Great week so far

well Edward is having a great week so far . He doesn't care about his hearing aids at all, he just goes about his daily routine. He just seems to love everything. 

Example is a few days ago he drove his car up in the living room for alittle for some drive in TV I guess, see picture below. 

Great Day

Edward had a great day at day care. He did not cry on the drop off (He usually cries when we drop him off) and when Melissa picked him up today, he still had his hearing aids in.. Great job little buddy. The teachers told us he only took them out once in the morning and that was it, the rest of the day he just went about his normal routine. I guess Edward is really getting comfortable with his hearing aids. We are so proud of him.... Hurray

Great Weekend

Well Edward seems to be adjusting to his hearing aids. On Saturday he seemed to be off and on as to whether or not he wanted to wear them, but as the day went on he seemed to be adjusting to them. He even had a great Speech therapy session with his hearing aids. On Sunday he did really well wearing them, he actually never took them off, until 8:30 when he took them off and said all done, all done... Well I guess he was trying to tell us something.
One thing Edward is getting better at is making a mess. He can take any clean room and destroy it with in 10 minutes, you won't believe it. Below is a picture of our living room after I picked it up and then Edward had an opportunity to rip it apart...

Getting use to them

Well Edward continues to get use to his hearing aids. We are hopeful as time passes we will see a difference in his speech. Edward actually started to hum for the first time today, which is kind of funny. He has never down this before.

We hopeful about his first speech therapy session tomorrow (Saturday) with his hearing aids....

Hearing aids are in

Well tonight we finally ended our 19 month journey to help Edward hear better. We finally received Edward's hearing aids today, see pictures below. Edward just was not sure what to think when they turned them on for the first time. Below is a link to the BIG MOMENT... It makes us want to cry a little. Old Friends

Well when I picked Edward up at daycare today he was pushing Iris around, his "girl friend
 from last year. We thought they didn't hang out anymore but I guess they made up, see picture below I took before he saw me.
Tomorrow is a HUGE DAY, as you already know. I will hopefully have something to post to this blog tomorrow night.

Oh and PPO speak is going great. Edward is learning so much, we can't wait to see how much faster he picked things up once he has his hearing aids in.....Only time well tell.

BIG NEWS

Melissa got word today that Edward's hearing aids are in, we go on Thursday for them to be programmed and fitted, I am going to take the video camera and video tape Edward's reaction when they first turn them on, it should be quite a sight to see, so look for videos and pictures on Thursday. We almost cried knowing that the end of our long journey to get him to ear 100% is almost here... We are hopeful as are all the therapist past and present that we should see a HUGE change with Edward's vocabulary once he can hear all the letters and letter sounds... we are hopeful that by xmas Edward might be talking in language we can understand...

Rain?!?!

Well when we woke up this morning we were surprised when we looked outside... Rain!!! We have not had rain in awhile and the whole state of CA is under serve drought conditions, so it caught us off guard. However mom was ready for it, she went into his closet and got out his rain coat (thanks cousin Abby and Sadie) sand some pants (FYI, he finally can wear 2T pants, his legs are short so he has been wearing 18-24 Month bottoms . Edward has a swimmers body, long upper body and short legs... )

Spaghetti anyone

Today we meant grandma Campbell at the mall for dinner. Edward decided he wanted spaghetti and boy did he ever make a mess, see picture below... 

Off to Chuck E Cheese

Well since it is over 100 degrees in Lancaster we decided to take Esward to Chuck E Cheese again. I think 1/2 of the Antelope Valley had the same idea. Boy is it ever busy (at Chuck E cheese as I write this). Edward is even taking time out from the wild time to eat.... 

It is hard to believe how far we have come, from the NICU to playing at Chuck E Cheese, who who have ever imagined him now. 

Up up and away.....

New toy

Edward recently got a, yes new toy with a gift card he got for his birthday. It is a maze toy he loves . He will just play and play with it, check out the pictures below.

Covered in mud

Well tonight when we were playing out back Edward found every spot that was muddy and loved running through it (we recently emptied our pool for the fall and the dirt is still a little wet. Melissa took a few pictures of Edward, his poor Spider-man shoes :(.... 

PPO Speak begins

Well on Wednesday night we meet Edward's new Speech Therapist Ms. Gerri. She has been a therapist for over 30 years and actually works for our school district during the day. She taught us so much to do with Edward during only the first hour. We are so excited to have her part of TEAM EDWARD. She is really excited to work with us too, and says she has heard so much about Edward from people in our school district. We are hoping that Edward has his hearing aids by this weekend or early next week so we can really see his speech take off....

Hanging out

Well tonight we hung out with Edward out back, and enjoyed the nice cool summer weather we had. Edward just loves to play outside, if he had his way he would never come inside. HE just loves it, he always said outide (No s since he can't hear it). What a day at the.....

Well we went back to Drytown Water in Palmdale . We have not been there in exactly one year. We went last year in September (Teachers are always free in September). 

Today we meant Dillion White and his mom and dad at the Water Park. We had such a great time. Edward loves Dillion, he does everything Dillion does, he is like Edward's big brother.
