Winter is here

Boy did it ever get cold quickly out here in California.... Last night we even got a little snow , just a very little. Today the high was only 50 with a low of 28. Edward is sure bundling up to goto school, 2 coats, a hat and blanket, see picture below. He does not seem to mind!

Last night we took Edward to the LA zoo for a nightly light show . He loves it!!!!! Below are a few pictures!!!!

Edward gets inventive

Well this year as we decorated the tree Edward found a way to put decorations up high. Since he can't reach he went all the way out to the garage and brought back a step ladder all by himself, I kid you not. Below us a picture of Edward decorating the tree this year! 

Story #2- Disneyland

Ok here is funny story number 2 from our adventures to Disneyland and California Adventure. 

When we got there on Monday spent the day at Disney's California Adventure, the other Disney park. When we got there Edward said "I want to ride red bus", which is a red trolley car that anyone can ride that takes you through part of the park. When we got on his was so excited. One of the drivers saw how excited he was and let him blow the whistle ,which is what the picture below is of. It was not a pretty picture when we had to get off the trolley but when he saw the rides he was fine..... 

Happy Thanksgiving to all

Well on this Thanksgiving day, I just want to give tanks to everyone who has helped us through these very challenging 4 plus years.... We would have never made it with out your support (Sorry this blog entry is late for some reason it didn't post yesterday) 

Great Weekend at Disneyland

We had such a great weekend trip to Disneyland, well the beginning of the week I guess. So many stories to tell you about our weekend that I will be sharing in this blog the next few days.. The first story is about the Storm Trooper and Edward picture you see below.
Some background, since Disney now owns Star Wars and Episode 7 comes out in 21 days, not that I am counting or anything. Disneyland's Tomorrow land is now the Season of the Force, with lots of Star Wars stuff to help build up even more excitement for the movie if that is even possible. As part of this, they have Storm Troopers walking around and randomly stopping to take pictures with random kids. Well Edward and I are sitting down waiting for Melissa to get me a BB3 cup full of Lemonade, BB3 is the new robot in Star Wars Episode 7. Well as we are waiting the Storm Troopers come by, stop, point to Edward and say "We have been looking for you" and then pose for pictures with Edward. It probably helped that Edward was wearing his Jedi Knight in Training Shirt. It made both of our days, well probably mine more than his. They just picked him out of the crowd and moved on with all these people following them...FYI- They only will pose with kids they pick.

Edward did some more writing tonight, confused read yesterday's blog entry... 

We also got a Save the Date from Edward. Seems our little boy is in a chrisrmtmas program at Daycare on December 3rd at 7pm!!!!! Look for FULL coverage of Edward's first performance on this blog and at edwardday.com 

We have no idea what his class is doing but we think singing and dancing as Edward has bee. Singing a lot of new songs at night recently 

Fell out of my chair

Ok their I am at our kitchen table talking to Melissa and listening to Edward say his alphabet, but wait! He is on the chalk board side of his 2 sided easel . I look and he is writing all the letters as he is saying them, yes actually writing them so you can actually read them! I fell out of my chair! I was stunned! Melissa was told yesterday at daycare he does it all the time on the magna doodle! Edward is so smart. Planes planes everywhere

The weather in Lancaster has cooled down so we can actually go outside and do things, so we took Edward to the airpark in Palmdale again. If you have never been here and don't know what the Palmdale airpark is, it is a park full of old military and civilian air craft that at one time flew. It has the 747 the shuttle use to be flown back to Florida on when it landed at Edward's Air Force base to jet fighters and transports planes used. Below are a few pictures.... 

One more week till Thanksgiving break and our trip to??????? (Not Legoland this time!)

New Game

Well today Edward invented a new game, pumpkin ball. Not sure what the rules are... All I know is he hits the ball in the air, like volleyball, I hit it back or try to and he tries to catch it.. Then he decides who gets the point, and sometimes you get 7 points and other times times you lose 10.. It is really funny. Sometimes you are winning by 4 and then the next minute you our losing by 10, and guess who wins Every time? Edward of course. Below are a few pictures of Edward and I playing the new game...

Also, we want to thank all the Veterans for there Service. We have lots of relatives that have served or are currently serving, so thank you for your service...

Helping daddy

Tonight we had a light go out so I got a chair to change it and guess who wanted to help? You guessed it, Edward! He said, "I help daddy" and grabbed his own chair and moved it next to mine and stood up, see pictures below..... Very funny and sweet that he wanted to Help! 

Eating ice cream with mommy

Well they say a picture is worth a thousand words, well here is a picture of mommy and Edward eating ice cream, he loves his mommy and he sure does love his ice cream too!!!!

Edward cheering on my school

On Friday after school I took Edward over to my school to watch a Volleyball game against the school I first taught at in Lancaster 10 years ago. Edward at first was a little shy but after awhile got brave, sat all by himself next to me and cheered on both teams clapping and saying good try.... He really just loved watching the ball go back and forth..... 

Edward growing fast

Look at the picture below to see how much Edward has grown in 6 months. Unofficially he is 3 feet 6 inches!!!! Half way to 4 feet.... Quite a difference from 12 inches, his starting point!!!!

New abc desk -Thanks Aunt Bette

Edward finally played with his new , used abc desk... Thanks Aunt Bette for the great new toy, he loves it. I actually remember playing with a similar one when I was a kid, check out the video of Edward spelling!!!!
