Park today, tomorrow ???

Well we went to the park today to spend time together . We packed a picinic. We had a blast watching the ducks and Edward play on the play sets. Yes for the first time, we didn't get on the equipment with him, we stayed close and just watched Edward have a blast....

Edward the big boy

Well today we finally changed out Edward's car seat. He was getting too big for it so we went to a booster seat. Tge seat he will have until he is 100 pounds!!!? Below are pictures of his old seat and new one. We are keeping the old one for now.

Well Edward and Melissa came to school tonight to bring me dinner before my back to school night! Below are a few pictures of Edward in my classroom... When they got home mommy rewarded Edward with a ice cream from the ice cream truck that was actually parked out front... See a picture of it below. A nice 3 day weekend ahead and one last chance to goto ???? Well you will have to wait and see...

Edward takes over

Ok a funny story to tell you that will explain the blog title.

First some info you need. When I pick Edward up at daycare he always is excited because of 2 reasons: One, he is going home and two because he can get some milky when he gets home. So each day he says milky all the way home. When we get home, I place him in the big chair in the living room and go and get him a snack and a glass of milk. I then get a glass of milk and we have a glass of milk together.  Ok so he always goes to that chair for milk and a snack.

So tonight when mommy was making dinner, I told Edward to go get in his chair for dinner, well instead of going to his chair in the dinning room he head right for, you guessed it, the big chair in the living room that I guess is Edward's chair. I looked around called his name and  he looked around at me with a big smile and said yum yum... Which means dinner of course... Kind of silly that he would go to that chair for dinner since we always eat dinner in the dinning room... Just really funny..

Batman and Robin

Well tonight we went shopping for Edward's new fishes. Below are a few pictures of our adventures tonight. Edward wanted a red fish and yellow fish. The yellow fish is Batman and the red fish is robin. He loves them so much he wanted to take them out to play with them, and when we said no he just didn't understand why we said no, he just wanted to play with his new friends.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: All of the paper work has gone through and Edward's hearing aids have been ordered and we should have them in about 2 weeks, we can't wait to have Edward hear all the sounds of the spectrum!!!

Difficult day comes to an end

Well another year, another difficult day comes to an end. We spent the evening with each other at the park, telling Edward his brother is up, in heaven watching over him. Thank you to everyone for giving us space on this very difficult day.

Sleep sleep and another hard day ahead

Well first Edward is sure sleeping well in his new bed!!! He is sleeping anywhere from 9-11 hours!!! We are so happy to finally get some unbroken sleep... Hurray

Well another year has pasted and with it another anniversary of William's passing. We are not taken the day off but we do ask people to please give us some space tomorrow as it will be a very difficult day for us.  We are going to spend sometime together in the park after school so again please give us space... Thank you 

Back and forth to Valencia we go

Well we have gone to Valencia the last 2 nights. See, I had another issue with my Macbook pro, which is why there was no blog yesterday. So we ran it down to the Apple Store in Valencia for repairs. Yesterday we went out to eat at Top Dogs, a sit down restaurant in the mall. Edward got Mac and Cheese and you should have seen him just eating the mac and cheese. He started with a spoon but that was not giving him enough, so he just grabbed it with both hands and off he went..

Today before our journey to Valencia to pick up my repaired computer (Had a bad connection between the hard drive and motherboard/logic board), we took Edward to Sonus. This is the place in Lancaster that will be helping us with his hearing aids. Today they put gaze and then some type of modeling liquid in his ear that made a mold of both ears. It hardened up in 3 minutes, so we didn't have to keep Edward distracted too long. We should have his actual hearing aids in about 2-3 weeks...

On our journey to Valencia to pick up my computer, we got Edward a kids meal at Jack in the bOx since he was really hungry. Before you knew it, he had 2 chicken tenders gone along with and 1/2 of the fries.

After we picked up the computer we headed into the inside part (the mall in Valencia has an outdoor area where the Apple Store is and an inside area). The reason we went inside is so Edward could ride the.... Well look at the pictures below. He actually went on one that moved and didn't want us to hold him, Don't worry he was just fine. He went out 3 straight times.....

Edward is growing

Went to Edward 3 year old doctor's appointment today. Edward is about 30 pounds and his height is 37 inches!!!!! He is at the 50tg percentile for height and 25th percentile for weight!!!! That means gat Edward is about 30 times bigger now than he was when he was born!!!!

Mommy had back to school night on Wednesday so Edward and I played outside since it is so nice tonight . 70 degrees with a nice cool summer breeze... It feels like Santa Barabara weather!!!

Well tomorrow we start week 2 of school and Edward starts week 3 of daycare... We are still stunned that Edward is 3 already. A very important event this week is on Friday we take Edward to get fitted for his hearing aids, he will be getting 2 of them, he has a slopped hearing lose due to medicine he took int eh NICU to stay alive... His hearing will NEVER be normal. He can hear, just not all the letter sounds...

busy two days

Well we have had a busy 2 days or as we refer to it "Edward's Birthday weekend". Yesterday we were going to take him to the AV fair until we realized it was the first night of the fair.. We went up to the fair to take a look and both of us said no at the sometime. we ended up going to our local Chuck E Cheese, were Edward got a special birthday sticker and even a picture with the big man himself. They even sang him happy birthday and it was not busy at all, everyone was at the fair. I have lots of pictures that I will upload to the web site tomorrow afternoon.
Today we got ready for Edward's new bedroom set, see picture below of Edward sleeping in his big boy bed. Later in the day our friends, Natalie, Hank and Luke invited us to go with them to Kotts Berry Farms. We went and had a blast, we actual just got back as I write this blog. I have lots of pictures from there as well that I will upload to edwardday.com tomorrow. Well hope everyone is doing great, we still can't believe Edward is 3, were did the time go???

The end

Well today we said goodbye to all the wonderful therapist at Looking Forward. We are so thankful for all there hard work and dedication. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We will never forget you. Below are a few pictures I took tonight to mark the celebration. I also thought back of where we were 3 years ago. Please was in labor, on her head at AV hospital as they tired to stop the contractions and I spent a sleepless night holding her hand and watching the monitor for the next contraction, and did a lot of time praying. The last 3 years has been a never ending roller coaster ride...

Therapy is coming to end

Well Thiuraday will mark the end of OT and PT at looking forward. We are so grateful for all the wonderful people we have meant on our journey. On Saturday Edward begins a new chapter in his life with private pay speech. We are hopeful in tge coming months that Edward will begin to make more speak we can understand as he begins the use of eating aids. Below is a picture from OT, his second to last session. 

First day in the books

Well we are both very tired. Our first day is behind us, now we just have to get the kids into our routine!! Edward is great, we made some changes in the backyard since the party, and yes if he gets within 3 feet of it we say no and he stops. He is a great listener. We had him in once and he loved it. The water is about 15 inches high. It goes to 30 inches but we decided to keep it lower for the rest of the season and maybe next spring when we put it back up we will raise it to 30 inches, after he has done swimming lessons at the YMCA. 

End of summer is finally here :(

Well the end of summer is finally here, as tomorrow we have our first day of the 2014-2015 school year.  Edward seems to be adjusting fine to daycare, know we hope our students can adjust to there new classes.
To mark the end of the summer, we went as a family, one last time to Apollo park in Lancaster. It is a great park with lots of ducks that Edward loves to quack at, it also has a great play ground for him, which he loved to play on tonight and won't leave, but we had to go as the park closes at sun down and the police were in the park making the announcement. Last night, Dillion spent the night and boy did they ever have fun. They camped out together in Edward's room and slept good. This am they played a lot and when Dillion's mom and dad came to get him Edward walked him out to the car and even climbed right in the car thinking he was going with Dillion. Oh well it was very touching. 

Off to work officially tomorrow, Monday we have netting and Tuesday we start off the 2014-2015 school year wish us luck 

Getting ready for the party

Well today we spent time getting ready for the party. We washed off the patio and washed everything down. We also got everything set up out back. It looks like a mini disneyland. Maybe we should map maps of the backyard with names for each are we have (i.e., ball land, climber town USA, water table land, house town, and of course water park land. I will post picture tomorrow of the party and the set up before the party, so look at the blog tomorrow night for full coverage....

FAMILY IS HERE

Heaven is for real

Ok I know this is a weird title for tonight blog entry, so let me explain.

First Edward is doing great, when mommy went to pick him up, he was playing a game with the class and had a beam bag on his head. So he is adjusting to his new friends and class.

Now, why did I use this title tonight . Well as everyone knows, William (Edward's brother ) left us after ten days and it is always a sad time when we approach Edward and William's birthday. Mekissa says that "August is a tough month". Well recently we purchased the movie, Heaven is for Real, and watched it as a family, I would encourage everyone to watch this movie! After watching it I was encouraged that Heaven is for real and William is waiting for us there. ( the movie is based on a true story of a four year old boy who visited heaven while he was in surgery and very sick), it talked about how much Jesus and god love children. If you are skeptical please rent or watch the movie! 

After I watched the movie I then went and bought the book, if you don't know I am not an avid reader but when I started reading the book today, I could not put it down. I read the whole book in one day, something I have never done , ever! The book is even better than the movie so if you love to read go buy Heaven is for Real and read it, you will thank me for it.

Reading through the book gives me hope that William is ok and is waiting for us in Heaven. I love you so much.... 

2nd day better

Well Edward's 2nd day of daycare went much better than the first. He seemed to play more and was even having a great time when I walked in but of course as soon as he saw me, he went running to me and gave me the biggest head....
The weekend of course is Edward's 3rd birthday party, he sped not turn 3 until 8/15 but we are doing his party early in since he real birthday falls on a Friday. It will be a difficult and happy time for us and we celebrate Edward and remember his brother, we will always love you and never forget you William.
On a happier note, the Edward year 3 movie is done. I will be uploading it to his web site on Sunday, after the party. It has been changed several times. so if you saw an early version of it, you may want to watch it again as it has had several changes done to it since the first version was completed in July.

First Day of daycare

Well today was Edward's first day of daycare. He seemed to get use to it a little, but still was very unhappy when we picked him up. I guess the teachers told us that when they moved rooms for snack time, Edward thought he was going home and got upset. Lucky we got there shortly after he started crying.... Other than that it seemed to go ok. He actually has water play at daycare on Tuesday, wednesday and Thursday, so he should love that.
On a sad note, Iris, Edward GF, is not in his room this year, will not yet. He is in a 3 year old room and she does not turn 3 until the winter..... She is coming to Edward's birthday party however!!! Below are the pictures today of Edward's first day at school! Boy when did he get to BIG!!

Last day

Well today was our last day together. Tomorrow Edward heads back to daycare and we head back to school to unpack and get ready for the new school year. We spent the last day running around and getting a few "things" done before we start up. You will have to wait a few weeks before I will tell you what "things" is. Below is what Edward wore today. Great Birthday and Day

Well I had a great Birthday thanks to Melissa and Edward. Today we headed to Valencia CA for Dillion's birthday, one of Edward's friends. Edward just loved it. He even went swimming and hit Dillion pinjada a few times. I have video of that and the link is below.
